Final Destination

If it keep on rainin', the levee gonna break
If it keep on rainin', the levee gonna break
Some people still sleepin', some people are wide awake - Bob Dylan (2006)

A seven-year old girl named Jenny was riding in the backseat of her family car when suddenly she asked, "Mommy, if a man in a big truck, a man who can't speak English, bangs into our car and doesn't hurt us but smashes the car, do we have to pay to get the car fixed?" Tobin Hart writes in The Secret Spiritual World of Children that her mother thought, What an odd question, and then explained how insurance worked. A few minutes later their car was hit by a dump truck, driven by a man who couldn't speak English. Though no one appeared hurt Jenny was hysterical, and was taken to the hospital for examination, during which she blurted out tearfully to the physician "It was my fault!" Asked what was her fault, she said "I knew the accident was going to happen and I didn't tell Mommy."

It wouldn't have helped, of course. A warning from Jenny that their car was soon to be struck by a non-English speaking man driving a truck and her mom would have thought, What an odd remark.

Whatever the basis for Jenny's alarm - intuition, premonition or something else - it would not likely have been recognized by her mother as sufficient grounds to pull off the road or change direction. Jenny would probably have been a silly girl for getting so worked up about some crazy notion in her head. If her mother's mind were typically rationalist, her daughter would be chided for magical thinking. They might even have been arguing as the truck hit.

Jenny's warning would almost certainly have been ignored. But what about the next time she sees something coming? How might her sensible mother respond then?

Following on from the post The Massacre of the Innocents, there's an interesting current thread on the RI forum regarding Gladio, Europe's "stay-behind" armies and alleged Pentagon Field Manual FM 30-31B. The document lays out a program of "intelligence guidance" for fascist cells to wage false-flag terror in NATO nations that "do not react with sufficient effectiveness" against "communist subversion." It adds that a crisis moment arrives once leftist groups "renounce the use of force" and become engaged in democratic systems. At such a time, "U.S. army intelligence must have the means of launching special operations which will convince Host Country Governments and public opinion of the reality of the insurgent danger."

The field manual was first published in the Turkish newspaper Baris in 1973, during a "whole range of mysterious acts of violence and brutality which shocked the Turkish society," writes Daniele Ganser in NATO's Secret Armies. He adds that, "thereafter, the Baris journalist who had come into the possession of the secret manual disappeared and was never heard of again." It next appeared in 1976, in the Spanish newspaper Triunfo after Franco's death, despite great pressure to prevent publication. In both occasions, publication was met with silence from the US State Department. Then, when the US Embassy in Italy got wind that the monthly magazine Controinformazione was going to translate and distribute the document it informed the publisher that it would be "inopportune" to do so. But it did so, and the issues were confiscated, and US officials then, for the first time, claimed in a letter that the document was a forgery (in fact, claimed there was not even an attachment "A" to FM30-31, which is now demonstrably false).

From Ganser:

After the discover of the secret NATO armies across Europe researchers started to investigate the direct link between FM 30-31 and the stay-behind armies. Allan Francovich in his BBC documentary on Gladio presented a copy of FM 30-31B to senior US officials. Ray Cline, Deputy CIA Director for Intelligence in the 1960s, confirmed: "This is an authentic document." William Colby, CIA Director from 1973 to 1976 and closely involved with operation Gladio and the stay-behinds in numerous countries of Western Europe, in front of the camera, was reluctant to face this dark side of his country and claimed: "I have never heard of it." Also CIA propaganda expert Michael Ledeen shied away from the sensitive document and claimed it to be a Soviet forgery. While Licio Gelli, the Italian Freemason and leader of the anti-Communist P2 frankly told Francovich: "The CIA gave it to me."

The case for stay-behind terror has been made and admitted many times over and doesn't rest upon a authenticity of a single document (though the State Department would have it so, since it's easier to deny a piece of paper than generational conduct). The significance of FM30-31B is that it appeared nearly a decade before the story of Gladio, the "Strategy of Tension" (in which forgery-advocate Ledeen had a hand) and Western Europe's other Stay-Behind networks broke publically. If it was a forgery then it was of an extremely rare order, as it accurately anticipated the next ten years of hidden European history.

But in 1973, the publication of FM30-31B appeared to most as Jenny's warning. It was an extremely odd thing to say that nativist far-right cells colluding with the CIA might attempt to discredit Europe's democratic left by waging false-flag acts of terror, because most of the examples were either still buried by history or were yet to come. Today, and to us, false flags have become such a part of our psycho-political landscape that some have trouble recognizing any other flag flying. But even when we err, given the lay of the land it's on account of caution rather than paranonia.

Questions of possibly more US-sponsored state terror in the Philippines have returned, following an unexplained "anti-terror experiment" smuggling bombing components through airport security. ("I am reminded," writes Amirah Ali Lidasan, "of an incident in May 2003, about an American by the name of Michael Meiring who accidentally set off an explosion in his room at the Evergreen hotel in Davao City. According to media reports, Meiring was mysteriously 'whisked away' by men believed to be agents of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation at the hospital where he was admitted. He was boarded onto a helicopter and nothing was heard from him again.")

And this story, just yesterday, marking another September 11:

Colombia military in bomb scandal

Army officers in Colombia have been accused of placing car bombs around the capital in the latest military scandal to hit the country.

...

In the latest scandal, army officers are accused of placing car bombs around Bogota, including one that went off wounding more than a dozen soldiers and killing a civilian. The motivation was to claim reward money from the government, which offers payments of up to $400,000 (£220,000) for information on the activities of Marxist rebels and drugs traffickers.

In another incident, 10 policemen were killed by the army in what was presented as a friendly fire tragedy. However, evidence has shown that they were killed at point-blank range. Several soldiers, including a colonel, have been arrested and accused of murdering the policemen on the orders of a notorious drug baron.

Mr Uribe insisted that these scandals are isolated incidents and that things are getting better.

And in Belgium, home of NATO and Marc Dutroux, two more soldiers have been arrested for being part of a neo-Nazi network suspected of planning "terrorist actions" aimed at "destabilizing" the country.

Is a pattern manifesting itself yet? And is it better parsed by a paradigm, often soft-sold by conservatives and "patriots" who conflate the UN with the NWO, that there is no qualitative difference between the left and the right, or one which holds that the enemy is and always has been characteristically fascist? That's not "playing politics": it's reading history, and recognizing an international legacy of privileged criminal perversion conspiring by its nature to crush us and maintain our weak posture that implies we can do nothing about it. "If humanity still has hope of survival," writes the Zapatistas' Subcommandante Marcos, "that hope is in the pockets formed by the excluded ones, the left-overs, the ones who are disposible." If that makes sense to you, then you agree that left and right remain valid categories, even unto the parapolitical depths.

Like Jenny's mother, Americans were warned of 9/11 by precedence, exigence and coincidence. And many now, to some measure and by whatever means, have finally received it. But America's still on the road, with much of the rest of the world strapped in the backseat, barrelling towards its final destination. If the warnings remain ineffective we had better think about how we're going to grab the wheel.

That's one helluva scary PhotoShop graphic you put at the top of this one. Nicely seamless, too. Let's hope it has the intended galvanic effect, and that the frog isn't completely dead yet.

I linked to your blog about 83 times with my 9/11 post. Not that I have a great deal of traffic to offer you, and my regular readers all seem to be very resistant to what gets regularly referred to by them as 'my tin foil hat tendencies', anyway. But what the hell.

Obviously, when you look at the Gladio stuff, the first thing you wonder is, when does this shit start splattering into the fan blades over here? I myself have been amazed that nobody has done more domestic bombings under an Islamofascist false flag -- you'd think it would ratchet the local fear levels up nicely. All I can assume is that the Powers That Be are worried that if people get too afraid, they'll stay home with the spouse and the kids and the credit cards -- and three days of that would see our entire socio/economic structure in ruins.

So, who knows? Maybe our fragile economic dependency on constant virtual currency churn is all that's saving us from a continent-wide Gladio-style offensive right here.

We can all probably agree that the Left in its idealized expression more often supports the common man than does the Right. Still money talks and more often it is co-opted such that pretty sounding words produce effects contrary to the overtly stated intents. Maybe the left/right dichotomy is legitimate within this meta-narrative, but I want to see a meta-narrative where it is not legitimate.

Michael Ledeen, for instance represents the negative pole of Left thinking. In this case the left and right are no different, both seek to define the expression of your being for you. Marcos represents the positive pole within the left, as there may also be a positive pole within conservative expressions. Anyway, the positive /negative thing does not break across the ideological spectrum, but rather within the two styles of political expression.

How to grab the wheel...
That's the question.

Grab it the wrong way, at the wrong time...what good is that? Grab it violently, the car crashes. Grab it meekly, and you'll be booted out the passanger door. Maybe the best and only ways to grab the wheel involve 1) getting everyone else aboard to reach for the wheel at the same time and/or 2) talking the driver down, breaking the driver's will to destroy.

I'm amazed and distraught that I haven't/cannot find a journalist who can cut so precisely through the bullshit as yourself, Mr Wells (without entering the abyss of zionist/jewish conspiracy-dome). It is a testament to your unfaltering quest for a greater truth. You are real close to hitting bone on this one Jeff. And, I'd be remiss if I didn't say that it makes me a bit anxious for you.

Yep, that picture fits. My son is 11. Every kid in his school gets a yearly agenda book. On yesterday's (9/11) page there was a red/white/blue ribbon printed over the day. I looked at all the other days of the year and there were no other ribbons. Not for July 4th, Veterans Day, Pearl Harbor Day. None. But oh, that's right, and how Unamerican of me that I forgot. 9/11 is Patriots Day now. 9-11/patriots/everlasting GWOT, you want to fight for your country, kiddies, yes?

Jeff's quote:

I would say the typical left or right leadership, yes.

The ideas or ideals rather, no.

I'm drawn to the way Antony Sutton characterized it, because it fits both green and libertarian localist issues versus consolidated and clientelistic party issues. (Antony Sutton of course was the one who later was passed the first complete list of the Skull and Bonesmen--and he was shocked to find that what he had been researching on the surface--about Wall Street and Bolsheviks, Wall Street and Hitler, etc.--had a hidden intergrative network via Bonesmen and Yale.)

This is the intro quote from his first in the three book series about Wall Street parapolitical groups manipulating both left and right revolutionary fervor. The first book is Wall Street and the Bolshevik Revolution. From the Preface:

PREFACE

Since the early 1920s, numerous pamphlets and articles, even a few books, have sought to forge a link between "international bankers" and "Bolshevik revolutionaries." Rarely have these attempts been supported by hard evidence, and never have such attempts been argued within the framework of a scientific methodology. Indeed, some of the "evidence" used in these efforts has been fraudulent, some has been irrelevant, much cannot be checked. Examination of the topic by academic writers has been studiously avoided; probably because the hypothesis offends the neat dichotomy of capitalists versus Communists (and everyone knows, of course, that these are bitter enemies). Moreover, because a great deal that has been written borders on the absurd, a sound academic reputation could easily be wrecked on the shoals of ridicule. Reason enough to avoid the topic.

Fortunately, the State Department Decimal File, particularly the 861.00 section, contains extensive documentation on the hypothesized link. When the evidence in these official papers is merged with nonofficial evidence from biographies, personal papers, and conventional histories, a truly fascinating story emerges.

We find there was a link between some New York international bankers and many revolutionaries, including Bolsheviks. These banking gentlemen — who are here identified — had a financial stake in, and were rooting for, the success of the Bolshevik Revolution.

Who, why — and for how much — is the story in this book.

Antony C. Sutton

March 1974

...

Chapter I:

The Actors on the Revolutionary Stage

Dear Mr. President:

I [as deputy director of the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank of New York] am in sympathy with the Soviet form of government as that best suited for the Russian people...

Letter to President Woodrow Wilson (October 17, 1918) from William Lawrence Saunders, chairman, Ingersoll-Rand Corp. [I think this is part of Halliburton now]; director, American International Corp.; and deputy chairman, Federal Reserve Bank of New York

The frontispiece in this book was drawn by cartoonist Robert Minor in 1911 for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Minor was a talented artist and writer who doubled as a Bolshevik revolutionary, got himself arrested in Russia in 1915 for alleged subversion, and was later bank-rolled by prominent Wall Street financiers.

Minor's cartoon portrays a bearded, beaming Karl Marx standing in Wall Street with Socialism tucked under his arm and accepting the congratulations of financial luminaries J.P. Morgan, Morgan partner George W. Perkins [of the Russell and Company international drug lord opium amilies], a smug John D. Rockefeller, John D. Ryan of National City Bank [Rockefeller's bank], and Teddy Roosevelt [a Morgan Partner basically lived in the White House with TR by the way...]— prominently identified by his famous teeth — in the background. Wall Street is decorated by Red flags. The cheering crowd and the airborne hats suggest that Karl Marx must have been a fairly popular sort of fellow in the New York financial district.

Was Robert Minor dreaming?

On the contrary, we shall see that Minor was on firm ground in depicting an enthusiastic alliance of [a very tight coterie of international banks--instead of all of] Wall Street and Marxist socialism.

The characters in Minor's cartoon — Karl Marx (symbolizing the future revolutionaries Lenin and Trotsky), J. P. Morgan, John D. Rockefeller — and indeed Robert Minor himself, are also prominent characters in this book.

The contradictions suggested by Minor's cartoon have been brushed under the rug of history because they do not fit the accepted conceptual spectrum of political left and political right. Bolsheviks are at the left end of the political spectrum and Wall Street financiers are at the right end; therefore, we implicitly reason, the two groups have nothing in common and any alliance between the two is absurd. Factors contrary to this neat conceptual arrangement are usually rejected as bizarre observations or unfortunate errors.

Modern history possesses such a built-in duality and certainly if too many uncomfortable facts have been rejected and brushed under the rug, it is an inaccurate history.

On the other hand, it may be observed that both the extreme right and the extreme left of the conventional political spectrum are absolutely collectivist. [Two different ideologies for the same path.] The national socialist (for example, the fascist) and the international socialist (for example, the Communist) both recommend totalitarian politico-economic systems based on naked, unfettered political power and individual coercion. Both systems require monopoly control of society. While monopoly control of industries was once the objective of J. P. Morgan and J. D. Rockefeller, by the late nineteenth century the inner sanctums of Wall Street understood that the most efficient way to gain an unchallenged monopoly was to "go political" and make society go to work for the monopolists — under the name of the public good and the public interest.

This strategy was detailed in 1906 by Frederick C. Howe in his Confessions of a Monopolist.1 Howe, by the way, is also a figure in the story of the Bolshevik Revolution.

Therefore, an alternative conceptual packaging of political ideas and politico-economic systems would be that of ranking the degree of individual freedom versus the degree of centralized political control. Under such an ordering the corporate welfare state and socialism are at the same end of the spectrum. Hence we see that attempts at monopoly control of society can have different labels while owning common features.

Consequently, one barrier to mature understanding of recent history is the notion that all capitalists are the bitter and unswerving enemies of all Marxists and socialists. This erroneous idea originated with Karl Marx and was undoubtedly useful to his purposes. In fact, the idea is nonsense. There has been a continuing, albeit concealed, alliance between international political capitalists and international revolutionary socialists — to their mutual benefit. This alliance has gone unobserved largely because historians — with a few notable exceptions — have an unconscious Marxian bias and are thus locked into the impossibility of any such alliance existing. The open-minded reader should bear two clues in mind: monopoly capitalists are the bitter enemies of laissez-faire entrepreneurs; and, given the weaknesses of socialist central planning, the totalitarian socialist state is a perfect captive market for monopoly capitalists, if an alliance can be made with the socialist powerbrokers.

Suppose — and it is only hypothesis at this point — that American monopoly capitalists were able to reduce a planned socialist Russia to the status of a captive technical colony?

Would not this be the logical twentieth-century internationalist extension of the Morgan railroad monopolies and the Rockefeller petroleum trust of the late nineteenth century?

Apart from Gabriel Kolko, Murray Rothbard, and the revisionists, historians have not been alert for such a combination of events. Historical reporting, with rare exceptions, has been forced into a dichotomy of capitalists versus socialists. George Kennan's monumental and readable study of the Russian Revolution consistently maintains this fiction of a Wall Street-Bolshevik dichotomy.2

Russia Leaves the War has a single incidental reference to the J.P. Morgan firm and no reference at all to Guaranty Trust Company.

Yet both organizations are prominently mentioned in the State Department files, to which frequent reference is made in this book, and both are part of the core of the evidence presented here.

Neither self-admitted "Bolshevik banker" Olof Aschberg nor Nya Banken in Stockholm is mentioned in Kennan yet both were central to Bolshevik funding.

Moreover, in minor yet crucial circumstances, at least crucial for our argument, Kennan is factually in error. For example, Kennan cites Federal Reserve Bank director William Boyce Thompson as leaving Russia on November 27, 1917. This departure date would make it physically impossible for Thompson to be in Petrograd on December 2, 1917, to transmit a cable request for $1 million to Morgan in New York. Thompson in fact left Petrograd on December 4, 1918, two days after sending the cable to New York. Then again, Kennan states that on November 30, 1917, Trotsky delivered a speech before the Petrograd Soviet in which he observed, "Today I had here in the Smolny Institute two Americans closely connected with American Capitalist elements "According to Kennan, it "is difficult to imagine" who these two Americans "could have been, if not Robins and Gumberg."

But in fact Alexander Gumberg was Russian, not American. Further, as Thompson was still in Russia on November 30, 1917, then the two Americans who visited Trotsky were more than likely Raymond Robins, a mining promoter turned do-gooder, and Thompson, of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

The Bolshevization of Wall Street was known among well informed circles as early as 1919.

The financial journalist Barron recorded a conversation with oil magnate E. H. Doheny in 1919 and specifically named three prominent financiers, [Fed. Reserve of New York's] William Boyce Thompson, [Morgan Partner] Thomas Lamont and Charles R. Crane:

Aboard S.S. Aquitania, Friday Evening, February 1, 1919.

Spent the evening with the Dohenys in their suite. Mr. Doheny said: If you believe in democracy you cannot believe in Socialism. Socialism is the poison that destroys democracy. Democracy means opportunity for all. Socialism holds out the hope that a man can quit work and be better off. Bolshevism is the true fruit of socialism and if you will read the interesting testimony before the Senate Committee about the middle of January that showed up all these pacifists and peace-makers as German sympathizers, Socialists, and Bolsheviks, you will see that a majority of the college professors in the United States are teaching socialism and Bolshevism and that fifty-two college professors were on so-called peace committees in 1914. President Eliot of Harvard is teaching Bolshevism. The worst Bolshevists in the United States are not only college professors, of whom President Wilson is one, but capitalists and the wives of capitalists and neither seem to know what they are talking about. William Boyce Thompson is teaching Bolshevism and he may yet convert Lamont of J.P. Morgan & Company. Vanderlip is a Bolshevist, so is Charles R. Crane. Many women are joining the movement and neither they, nor their husbands, know what it is, or what it leads to. Henry Ford is another and so are most of those one hundred historians Wilson took abroad with him in the foolish idea that history can teach youth proper demarcations of races, peoples, and nations geographically.3

In brief, this is a story of the Bolshevik Revolution and its aftermath, but a story that departs from the usual conceptual straitjacket approach of capitalists versus Communists. Our story postulates a partnership between international monopoly capitalism and international revolutionary socialism for their mutual benefit. The final human cost of this alliance has fallen upon the shoulders of the individual Russian and the individual American. Entrepreneurship has been brought into disrepute and the world has been propelled toward inefficient socialist planning as a result of these monopoly maneuverings in the world of politics and revolution.

This is also a story reflecting the betrayal of the Russian Revolution.

The tsars and their corrupt political system were ejected only to be replaced by the new powerbrokers of another corrupt political system. Where the United States could have exerted its dominant influence to bring about a free Russia it truckled to the ambitions of a few Wall Street financiers who, for their own purposes, could accept a centralized tsarist Russia or a centralized Marxist Russia but not a decentralized free Russia.

And the reasons for these assertions will unfold as we develop the underlying and, so far, untold history of the Russian Revolution and its aftermath.4

There was also the "Green" movement, which fought both Whites and Reds. The author has never seen even one isolated mention of the Greens in any history of the Bolshevik Revolution. Yet the Green Army was at least 700,000 strong!

Anthony Sutton, who at some point will be honored as one of the greats of the twentieth century for his research into the truth that cost him a great career. Now there was a man. Members of our current careerist "free" press, Gary Webb and the Octopus researcher aside (Danny C.), would not sacrifice as they print moronic popaganda for the porn reading beer drunk masses), documented how all this worked and who was running the fascist totalitarian show in his books i.e. they financed the Nazis and the Soviets and made big money on the war build up, the resulting mass murder, and then never facing prosecution for financing the whole thing ran the board thereafter placing us where we are today where it is just about over.

Bascially, creepy murderous moneyed adult frat boy types (ala our Dear Leader, Bohemian Grove etc.)rigging the game in conspiracy with each other, all insider info for them don't you know, as the Washington Post, NY Times and other mainstream propaganda instruments trivialize and ridicule "conspiracy theories" - - the whole system is based on a working conspiracy of elite psychopaths against every decent person on the planet and the gloves are just about to come off completely as Halliburton/KBR completes the $385,000,000 concentration/death camps.

Maybe Bill Clinton or Hillary will save us, no, guess not, that spooky spook Bill Casey put Bill in the whore, I mean White, House due to his efforts in Mena for the "team" . . . Left, Right, what a farce . . . Kerry v. Bush, uh-huh . . .

Here is a good interview with Sutton before he left this nut house for a well deserved stay on heavenly plains (his opponents will be heading in another direction prior to rebirthing to experience the living, stinking hell on Earth they have created and which we all shall be experiencing in the very near future as the glaciers melt at an ever excelerating rate and the methane gas ramps up the temperatures as the rain forests burn in turn, the false flags wave, the bioweapons are released, and those who want to survive try to head up to the Arctic (while our pols in Washington head to the underground bunkers, well stocked I hear . . . something about no sin worse than greed . . . game, set, and match to the Yale psycopaths and their "elite" confederates):

Sounder, I'm curious why you wrote:

"Michael Ledeen, for instance represents the negative pole of Left thinking..."

Ledeen, apart from being an intelligence operative, is someone who has publicly embraced fascism on numerous occasions, and in multiple writings. If fascism isn't "right," then what is?

I'm happy to be corrected.

I am not one to paste lengthy articles here (unless I've written them myself), but on this question of Gladio-type operations, this wondering whether the US government, or elements of the national security operating out of its basement, are behind the murders and mayhem--the terror incidents we have to hear so much about--I have to make an exception. This is not one of those areas we have to wonder about: yes, the US gov't. is behind this shit; yes, there is documentation, evidence, and a trail that leads from the war criminals of today (Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, etc.) to the war criminals of yesterday (Lemnitzer, Gehlen, Globke, etc.) It's the biggest story of the new century, since it details the implementation of the plans of the those who wrote the infamous PNAC document. I've linked the story here before, but today i'm going to submit some passages which illustrate exactly how they're manufacturing terrorism around the world. The story was broken by Chris Floyd, who was fired, mysteriously, from his long-time gig at the Moscow Times in the wake of these revelations. Apparently, deals get made...even between "competing" agencies and governments.

From Into the Dark:

This column stands foursquare with the Honorable Donald H. Rumsfeld, U.S. Secretary of Defense, when he warns that there will be more terrorist attacks against the American people and civilization at large. We know, as does the Honorable Donald H. Rumsfeld, U.S. Secretary of Defense, that this statement is an incontrovertible fact, a matter of scientific certainty. And how can we and the Honorable Donald H. Rumsfeld, U.S. Secretary of Defense, be so sure that there will be more terrorist attacks against the American people and civilization at large?

Because these attacks will be instigated at the order of the Honorable Donald H. Rumsfeld, U.S. Secretary of Defense.

This astonishing admission was buried deep in a story which was itself submerged by mounds of gray newsprint and glossy underwear ads in last Sunday's Los Angeles Times. There in an article by military analyst William Arkin, detailing the vast expansion of the secret armies being massed by the former Nixon bureaucrat now lording it over the Pentagon – came the revelation of Rumsfeld's plan to create "a super-Intelligence Support Activity" that will "bring together CIA and military covert action, information warfare, intelligence, and cover and deception." According to a classified document prepared for Rumsfeld by his Defense Science Board, the new organization – the "Proactive, Preemptive Operations Group (P2OG)" – will carry out secret missions designed to "stimulate reactions" among terrorist groups, provoking them into committing violent acts which would then expose them to "counterattack" by U.S. forces.

In other words – and let's say this plainly, clearly and soberly, so that no one can mistake the intention of Rumsfeld's plan – the United States government is planning to use "cover and deception" and secret military operations to provoke murderous terrorist attacks on innocent people. Let's say it again: Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, George W. Bush and the other members of the unelected regime in Washington plan to deliberately foment the murder of innocent people – your family, your friends, your lovers, you – in order to further their geopolitical ambitions.

For P2OG is not designed solely to flush out terrorists and bring them to justice – a laudable goal in itself, although the Rumsfeld way of combating terrorism by causing it is pure moral lunacy. (Or should we use the Regime's own preferred terminology and just call it "evil"?) No, it seems the Pee-Twos have bigger fish to fry. Once they have sparked terrorists into action – by killing their family members? luring them with loot? fueling them with drugs? plying them with jihad propaganda? messing with their mamas? or with agents provocateurs, perhaps, who infiltrate groups then plan and direct the attacks themselves? – they can then take measures against the "states/sub-state actors accountable" for "harboring" the Rumsfeld-roused gangs. What kind of measures exactly? Well, the classified Pentagon program puts it this way: "Their sovereignty will be at risk."

The Pee-Twos will thus come in handy whenever the Regime hankers to add a little oil-laden real estate or a new military base to the Empire's burgeoning portfolio. Just find a nest of violent malcontents, stir 'em with a stick, and presto: instant "justification" for whatever level of intervention/conquest/rapine you might desire. And what if the territory you fancy doesn't actually harbor any convenient marauders to use for fun and profit? Well, surely a God-like "super-Intelligence Support Activity" is capable of creation ex nihilo, yes?

The Rumsfeld-Bush plan to employ murder and terrorism for political, financial and ideological gain does have historical roots (besides al Qaeda, the Stern Gang, the SA, the SS, the KGB, the IRA, the UDF, Eta, Hamas, Shining Path and countless other upholders of Bushian morality, decency and freedom). We refer of course to Operation Northwoods, oft mentioned in these pages: the plan that America's top military brass presented to President John Kennedy in 1963, calling for a phony terrorist campaign – complete with bombings, hijackings, plane crashes and dead Americans – to provide "justification" for an invasion of Cuba, the Mafia/Corporate fiefdom which had recently been lost to Castro.

Kennedy rejected the plan, and was killed a few months later. Now Rumsfeld has resurrected Northwoods, but on a far grander scale, with resources at his disposal undreamed of by those brass of yore, with no counterbalancing global rival to restrain him – and with an ignorant, corrupt president who has shown himself all too eager to embrace any means whatsoever that will augment the wealth and power of his own narrow, undemocratic, elitist clique.

There is genuine transgression here, a stepping-over – deliberately, with open eyes, with forethought, planning, and conscious will – of lines that should never be crossed. Acting in deadly symbiosis with their supposed enemies, the terrorist mafias, Bush and his cohorts are plunging the world into an abyss, an endless night of black ops, retribution, blowback, deceit, of murder and terror – wholesale, retail, state-sponsored, privatized; of fear and degradation, servility, chaos: the perversion of all that's best in us, of all that we've won from the bestiality of our primal nature, all that we've raised above the mindless ravening urges and impulses still boiling in the mud of our monkey brains.

It's not a fight for freedom; it's a retreat into darkness.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And, more briefly [sorry, Jeff!] from the follow-up:
Darkness Visible: The Pentagon Plan to Foment Terrorism is Now in Operation (2005)
More than two years ago, we wrote here of a secret Pentagon plan to foment terrorism: sending covert agents to infiltrate terrorist groups and goad them into action – i.e., committing acts of murder and destruction. The purpose was two-fold: first, to bring the terrorist groups into the open, where they could be counterattacked; and second, to justify U.S. military attacks on the countries where the terrorists were operating – attacks which, in the Pentagon's words, would put those nations' "sovereignty at risk." It was a plan that countenanced – indeed, encouraged – the deliberate murder of innocent people and the imposition of U.S. military rule anywhere in the world that American leaders desired.
This plan is now being activated.
In fact, it's being expanded, as the New Yorker's Seymour Hersh revealed last week. Not only will U.S.-directed agents infiltrate existing terrorist groups and provoke them into action; the Pentagon itself will create its own terrorist groups and "death squads." After establishing their terrorist "credentials" through various atrocities and crimes, these American-run groups will then be able to ally with – and ultimately undermine – existing terrorist groups.
Top-level officials in the Pentagon, the U.S. intelligence services and the Bush administration confirmed to Hersh that the plan is going forward, under the direction of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld – just as we noted here in November 2002. Through a series of secret executive orders, George W. Bush has given Rumsfeld the authority to turn the entire world into "a global free-fire zone," a top Pentagon adviser says. These secret operations will be carried out with virtually no oversight; in many cases, even the top military commanders in the affected regions will not be told about them. The American people, of course, will never know what's being done in their name.
The covert units – including the Pentagon-funded terrorist groups and hit squads – will be operating outside all constraints of law and morality. "We're going to be riding with the bad boys," one insider told Hersh. Another likened it to the palmy days of the Reagan-Bush years: "Do you remember the right-wing execution squads in El Salvador? We founded them and we financed them. The objective now is to recruit locals in any area we want. And we aren't going to tell Congress about it." Indeed, we reported here last summer that Bush has already budgeted $500 million to fund local paramilitaries and guerrilla groups in the most volatile areas of the world, a measure guaranteed to produce needless bloodshed, destruction and suffering for innocent people already ravaged by conflict.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It's all there, boys and girls: the case has been made, we don't need to speculate any further. What needs to be done is to spread this revelation far and wide. Bush went on the reality screen again last night to reaffirm our commitment to the perpetual war that the "good guys" are secretly fueling. We all knew that the War On Terror was politically self-serving--the world needs to know that it's also self-perpetuating.

Capitalism would be fun if we didn't have to "compete" for food, warmth and shelter. There is alot of room to play beyond the basic needs. Government is "collectivist" and that cannot be changed. What has to change and soon is the construct of what a government "can do for you".

I've held off posting on this thread, because the subject potentially sprawls in all directions, and I've been reluctant to add in anything that could lead the discussion away from the core topic of Gladio and false flag operations.

However, I'd like to point out briefly that there is a second line of development, closely related to Gladio, that also began in the late 40's and early 50's with former OSS/CIA people forming alliances with both European and East Asian fascists.

The World Anti-Communist League and Moon's Unification Church were the main Asian manifestations of this approach. In Europe, it involved a large number of nationality groups, many of them far more overtly fascist, such as the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations.

In the 1960's and 1970's, the Asian and European groups established close ties with one another and also with Latin American fascists. Many of the death squad leaders, for example, received training in Taiwan through these connections.

During the same period, many young American right-wingers were also being drawn into this complex -- mainly through their membership in the strongly CIA-connected Young Americans for Freedom -- and were joining groups like the World Anti-Communist League and the Pinochet-whitewashing American-Chilean Council.

In those groups, the YAFers came into contact with older figures, typified by former OSS officer Lev Dobriansky. Dobriansky was chairman of both the National Captive Nations Committee, known as a front for the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists-Bandera (which had worked with the Nazis during World War II and then gone underground), and the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, an umbrella organization which is also said to have been heavily infiltrated by OUN.

Both the nationality groups and members of WACL had close ties to George H.W. Bush, probably starting during his Team B period as head of the CIA in 1976. This may explain why Dobriansky was appointed ambassador to the Bahamas by Reagan in the 80's -- he is alleged to have helped cover up drug trafficking there at a time when 90% of the cocaine entering the US was coming through that country.

One way and another, there is no doubt that the YAFers learned some very underhanded and undemocratic practices as a result of their apprenticeship in the anti-communist right. Many of these same individuals have since gone on to specialize in Republican campaign dirty tricks, astroturfing, and dubious direct-mail fund-raising -- all of which have helped undermine American democracy during the last 35 years and all of which seem to derive directly from that same "false flag" mentality as Gladio.

They may not have the same pizzazz as fake terrorism, but fake seniors organizations (like United Seniors, for which one-time YAF chairman and American-Chilean Council member David Keene was the lobbyist) can be just as destructive of democracy in the long run.

I agree with much of what Sutton says, and I share TMB's sentiments. I'm not quite certain what Jeff is asserting in regards to Left and Right. His language seems somewhat vague and couched, but I'm of the impression that it is a fabricated dichotomy, as in a fabricated breakfast bowl, and we are the cereal that fills that bowl, unwittingly, but voluntarily, of course. That fabricated bowl, so long as it remains full of cereal, serves to quell the hunger of the Chosen Few, who live outside the dichotomous construct of the Left/Right Bowl.

However, when describing the nature of the fabricated Left-Right Construct, one must not view it as a flat line spectrum, but rather as a nearly complete circle, with a minor gap between opposite poles. Many Golfers wear a magnetic bracelot that pysically demonstrates this description. When you view it this way, extreme left is very proximate to extreme right.....the only thing separating the two is a minor gap....one easily, and often bridged. Hence, we see former Trotskyists joining forces with Straussians to form a new hybrid fascist stealth ideaology heretofore known as NeoConservatism.

Like the golfers I mentioned, this dichotomously constructed left-right bracelot is used by the Chosen Few as a source of regeneration and invigoration, metaphorically speaking. They where it around their wrists like a wedding ring.

As Starroute mentioned, civilization, which includes this construct, as well as many others, was forced upon us under brutal circumstances, and it has resulted in perpetual brutality and inequality since its abrupt inception.

Our challenge is to remove this burdensome yoke, for it is not the natural state of Man. We know that, we feel that, and that is why most of us are here, because we don't accept that yoke as the final analysis.

How do we remove the yoke without replacing it with another?

That rings a bell.

Where have I heard that forgery line before?

Or this dismissal of the claim?

"If it was a forgery then it was of an extremely rare order, as it accurately anticipated ... history."

I read this site regularly and I respect the opinions I find posted here even if I was banned from the discussion forum for using the name of a deceased philosopher whose philosophy rankled some of the regular posters- however I cannot help but notice that nothing seems to consume more time than the naming of things, i.e. "fascist", "nazi", etc. as if giving them a name neuters their power. It doesn't and it won't because they will simply change the name.

Speaking of false flags, only in America would there be basically no investigation into the dancing and celebrating Mossad agents who were wooping it up and snapping photos of themselves high fiving it as the WTC collapsed on 3,000 of our fellow human beings - - nothing to investigate there, of course.

Seems some of these celebrants are now suing us for damages due to the inconvenience of their short detainment prior to our Dear Leader allowing them out of the country over the objections of the few in the CIA who seem to be representing the interests of those of us being murdered by our "leaders". Wayne Madsen has a great recap of the truly unbelievable facts, leading of course to no "law enforcement" investigation or prosecution:

http://www.waynemadsenreport.com/Artstudents.htm

He also in today's post raises questions as to a nuclear device being used in taking the towers down as many others are joining their fellow citizens who died that day in the cemetery, only they are going a bit slower with radiation poisoning. The result of more Hi-jinks from the Skull & Bones frat boys and their buddies in the "intelligence" services no doubt - - let's hope for some divine justice b/c there won't be any here:

DO YOU SEE THOSE TWO BUILDINGS!!!

Sept. 4-5, 2001 - A freshman at Brooklyn's New Utrecht High School who had recently emigrated from Pakistan reportedly predicts the destruction of the World Trade Center a week prior to the 9-11 attacks, according to the JournalNews newspaper in White Plains, N.Y. Citing "three police sources and a city official familiar with the investigation" as well as confirmation from the FBI that the bureau had received this information, the paper reported that in the midst of a heated class discussion the student pointed to the World Trade Center from a third story window and said, "Do you see those two buildings? They won't be standing there next week." New York City Board of Education spokeswoman Catie Marshall confirmed for the JournalNews "that school officials reported the matter to police within minutes of the Sept. 11 attack" and students told the paper that "FBI agents and NYPD detectives descended on the school on Sept. 13 to interrogate the student [who made the prediction] and others in his class," which was "an English class for Arab-American students." Personally, I have no fear of being blindfolded, murdered or whatever for speaking out - - most of us are going to suffer horrible deaths in the next few years anyway, wake up to the news, so one might as well go out as a man against the flaming coward, fascist punks who have so conspired against us. The frat boys have stabbed us all in the back collectively and set us against one another as they control the media and have used it to brainwash our fellow citizens and they have now picked our pockets clean while their collective conspiring actions have sentenced all decent people on the planet to a very ugly death in the not so distant future.

There are worse things than dying, we all do that at some point and we all come back again to reap what we sewed in the previous incarnation(s), how you live is what counts, fearing thugs is no way to live, what they do to you will be done to them . . . this is divine justice and there is a great deal due . . . reality does not work the way these people believe . . .

The thing about the falseness of the Left/Right dichotomy is that the Left is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the Right. Where once there were fledgling progressive, social democratic movements, there now exists nothing but plots and counterplots, all of which emanate from the offices of the corpocracy which owns everthing.

When you get right down to it, the Soviet system wasn't really "communist" at all--it was state capitalism administered by a privileged bureaucractic elite for the purpose of maintaining their own position of power and privilege. To say that the competing totalitarian states of the 20th century were opposed to one another on ideological grounds is to repeat the official story of those "conflicts".

Socialism is not totalitarianism, it doesn't kill the incentive, or free will, or creativity of the human spirit: these are all the classic staples of rightwing propaganda. In fact, it's exceedingly difficult to make an argument against socialism that does not parrot something the CIA had printed up on leaflets to be dropped over the Iron Curtain (which, by the way, was not coined by Churchill, but by Goebbels: "der eiserne Vorhang," which says a little something about the politics of capitalism).

The reason we haven't seen the emergence of representative democracies which distribute wealth and power equitably, providing for universal health care, free, high-quality education, humane treatment of the elderly and the unfortunate is not because there isn't enough money to go around, or because human nature is too corruptible (the rightwing DMV argument), but because this is the antithesis of the system we have. There is nothing that strikes fear into the heart of the greedy bastards who own the world more than Ben Cohen's cookie cartoon that I shared with Richard a few threads back because the truth is that it's easy, it's rational, and it would invigorate society, giving people something to believe in, motivating them to participate in self-government and seek to make the world a better place. Oh, yeah...it would also take the reins of tyranny out of the mad slave-drivers' hands, so there is that...

interesting where you hear names again after hearing them for the first time. reading miller's "blood money" today, i came across michael ledeen--well, his *daughter*, actually:

"Another [novice appointed to the reconstruction of iraq early in 2003] was Simone Ledeen, the twenty-nine-year old daughter of Michael Ledeen, a neoconservative and scholar at the conservative American Enterprise Institute. She became the defacto budget director for the reconstruction" (pg. 39).

a check of the index of the book reveals that *nothing* else is said about her, so either she didn't last long as the "budget director" for the entire reconstruction of iraq or, well, shit, who knows?

Not only is the left coming to seem indistinguishable from the right, but I'm starting to believe that 9/11 was a joint Saudi-Israeli plot, cooked up to discredit and thus eliminate Osama -- whom the Saudis regarded as an embarrassment and the Israelis as a menace -- and supported by Western business interests in the name of keeping the Middle East safe for capitalism.

Or maybe not.

At any rate, what I really want in this post is to enter a few thoughts about civilization -- because I think the word has two different meanings, one good and one bad, and we may be in danger of throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

What I see in history is a recurring pattern where periods of abundant resources, allowing for a morgenerous and creative lifestyle, are followed by periods of privation, cultural contraction, and desperate expedients to hold on to some part of the previous advance.

The abundance of the late Ice Age, when advanced hunter-gatherer cultures had mastered their environments and had time for art and science, was wiped out by the thawing of the glaciers and the flooding of the richest coastal lands. In some places, populations simply died back and resorted to a minimal subsistence existence, living off acorns or whatever. In others, the birth of agriculture (drawing on expertise that had already been developed for specialized purposes like raising medicinal and psychedelic plants) made it possible to keep up a greater population density and a higher degree of social complexity, though at the expense of more grueling labor and poorer health.

As agriculture got into higher gear, selective breeding, the use of the plow, and the so-called secondary products revolution (milk and eggs and such) created a renewed state of abundance. A new cultural flowering came along about 5500 BC, marked by sophisticated pottery, the development of metallurgy, astronomical knowledge, etc. But that High Neolithic culture was in turn threatened by the climate turning unhospitable about 4000 BC, and the response to that was the hierarchic state.

The appeal of the hierarchic state was two-fold. For those who had gotten modestly wealthier than their neighbors during the previous period of abundance, it offered the opportunity to become kings or nobles and enjoy wealth and power beyond their wildest dreams. For everyone else, it offered guarantees against outright starvation and protection from attacks by the equally starving folks down the road, but at the cost of a great deal of regimentation and exploitation.

It wasn't much of a bargain, but under the circumstances it was the best one around.

The real problem was that it became self-reinforcing. Since the last major climate crash of c. 2200 BC, the planet has been as human-friendly as it gets. And yet we keep living as if we were on the brink of imminent disaster.

The reason for that appears to be that the elites, with an instinctive sense of what it takes to maintain themselves in power, have gone out of their way to keep most of us on the brink of starvation and embroiled in perpetual warfare, just as if it were still 3500 BC.

I personally have no desire to revert to being a hunter-gatherer or a Neolithic peasant. I like civilization, in the sense of having a highly-developed, cosmopolitan culture. It's the elites we could do without. We don't need them. They're a drain on our energy and creativity. And even if the world really is heading back into another period of diminished resources, elites were the solution for last time around. We've got better options to draw on now -- technology and elaborate distribution networks among them -- and we don't need to make that particular devil's bargain ever again.

Interesting talk of another NEOCON false flag for october surprise follows:
TBR News.org – August 10, 2006

“Here, as promised, is an interesting conversation that somehow accidentally got intercepted and transcribed. There are lots more where this came from!”

Transcription of telephone conversation on August 3, 2006
From

Israeli Embassy, Washington D.C. Telephone Number (202) 364-5582.

to

unidentified individual at AIPAC, Washington D.C., Telephone Number (202) 639-5201

Commenced 1821 hrs, concluded 1826 hrs.

Speaker A Reuven Azar - Counselor for Political Affairs, Embassy of Israel

Speaker B Unidentified individual located at AIPAC headquarters

A. Well, things are going as well as expected, better perhaps than expected. There is military progress there (Lebanon) and we have wonderful cooperation here.

B. For sure, but don’t forget the dangers in having too much cooperation. All right for this moment but in the long run, this can certainly backfire on us. You know, we are seen as being too much influential with the Bush people.

A. I wouldn’t worry too much about that. The media is certainly not to worry about and most Americans really do not care about things there (Lebanon) The main point is that by the time the U.S. makes itself felt at the UN, we will have accomplished our goals and established the buffer we need.

B. Absolutely but…there is still the future to think about.

A. Who cares? Once we establish the buffer, the rest is just shit. It will all be hidden soon in the coming press reports of Arab ‘attacks’ on the U.S. This is for the voting in November. You know, ‘many Arab groups will for sure attack American targets.’ They (the U.S. Government) will choose so-called target areas where they need the most support. We don’t need to worry about Miami, Skokie or Beverly Hills after all. (Laughter) and this is a little crude but the public here is terribly stupid and the warning color days worked before, didn’t they?

B. Yes, but there are second thoughts on all of that. If you go to the well too often, there are problems. People lose interest.

A. The British are being such swine about this, aren’t they? They are causing trouble about the bombs these days.

B. Just a few troublemakers. The press here does not cover that and who reads the foreign media? Most Americans can’t read anyway. But there is danger that the U.N. might be motivated to move a peace keeping force into Lebanon and this might negate our purposes. Hesbollah must be utterly wiped out and Syria must be made to realize…with force if necessary…that it cannot supply the terrorists with more Iranian rockets. Maybe an accidental airstrike on Syrian military units could say to them to mind their own business. We have done this before.

A. It is too bad that we cannot teach Tehran a lesson. The ultimate goal would be to have America attack Iran but I am afraid the American military is dead set against this…

B. They are all Jew-haters up there.

A. For sure but we know that Americans can bomb the shit out of Tehran and hopefully kill off a number of the militants, probably disrupt their atomic program and teach all of the area that the U.S. means business. We support them, they support us. But they cannot send in ground troops and if we did that, our losses would not be borne at home. As it is, there are the usual malcontents bleating about the Lebanon business.

B. They are just afraid they will get a rocket on their house and there are the same ones here. The Lieberman business is not that good, after all. Yes, of course he is a liberal Democrat but his support of us is too obvious. He could be a little critical too. We see the Bush people doing this, just to keep the people quiet. Yes, they say, see, we too are actually critical of Israel….

A. But not too critical, right?

B. No, never that. Too many pictures of dead jerks for example. We need to see more pictures of grieving Israelis, mourning lost sons and children. Can’t we get more of those? Fuck the Arabs.

A. I feel sorry for the American mediA. Their instincts are to defend dead Arab children…

B. But nits make lice, don’t they? Who mourns dead Israeli children?

A. I’m sure there would be more on this but not enough children are dead.

B. Not yet, anyway. But if they rocket Tel Aviv…

A. Well, then, for sure.

B. We should have pictures all ready if that happens. Do you think it will?

A. Tehran directs that part of the business. We don’t have as much inside gen on them there…

B. The fucking Russians are on their side.

A. We have always had trouble with those Slavic pricks. First weapons…

B. The Chinese assholes also do this, don’t forget.

A. No one around here will forget that, be assured. The time will come when we get them too. Say we cut off their oil from the Gulf? What then? They will dance to our tunes then, not Tehran’s.

B. If we had oil…

A. But we do not. The filthy Putin has the oil. They should get rid of him while they are at it. Our people almost had it but he forced them out.

B. They can always come back. The people here would really support this. We put our people back in after we get rid of Putin and then a guaranteed flow of oil to America.

A. And Russia is off the chessboard too.

B. They all want that badly here, too. Cheney is the strongest supporter of cutting the nuts off of RussiA. The military here are against fishing in troubled waters.

A. They can’t be replaced, Bush can’t sack them all.

B. Set an example. Sack a few more of the assholes and the rest will shut up. They always do. So, send me your latest list and I’ll see what I can do here.

A .Send someone to pick it up. The mail here is awful. It will take a week if some black doesn’t steal it, throw it away or wipe his ass with it.

B. Tomorrow for sure.

A. OK. And one other matter. We feel very strongly that if the current people get kicked out in November, as it looks like they might, we owe them to help them stay right where they are. It has taken a long time and much money to get all the ducks lined up and we don’t want to have to start in again. We can generally rely on sympathy from the Democrats but they will not support any more military ventures over there. That’s for sure.

B. Then what do you suggest?

A. The terrorism card works wonders. We were going to release a statement that Arabs were going to attack an El Al plane on takeoff, with rockets….

A. Probably leftovers from the CIA businesses in Afghanistan.

A. Let’s not get into that now. But this scare would only affect flights to Israel and we don’t think it would have any impact on the election.

B. Well then, why not have these attacks aimed at American aircraft? Where would they attack from?

A. Say at the perimeter fence lines at airports. Or better still, why not a plan cooked up to smuggle explosives on board transatlantic flights to or from America? Something clever that will catch the public imagination….

B. That stupid bomb in the shoe routine?

A. Don’t knock it. It worked, didn’t it? We can always find some suckers with a bent to this we can fill up with real enthusiasm and then turn them in, complete with plans. They actually believe they are going to paradise and fuck virgins and we have another propaganda coup. Let’s give this some effort. You know, a terrified public will not want to change horses in mid stream. So far, the Rove people have a good line: If you’re against the Republicans, you’re encouraging the evil terrorists sthick.

B. Well, they did that with the alert warnings and it worked…more or less.

A. Face it, they aren’t too bright here. They ran it into the ground, had to fire Ridge and Ashcroft, one of our very best friends ever, and put those things on ice. They need to discover a huge plot but in America

A. You know, as you said, infiltrate a group of crazies, plant things on them, call the FBI…

B. Oh, they do that themselves. That business in Florida was pathetic…

A. But it worked, didn’t it?

B. For about ten minutes at six o’clock for about three days.

A. Well, think about it and get back to me.

B. Right.

A. What’s the situation with your two people? Are they going to be tried or not?

B. Probably not, as far as the Bush people are concerned. But it is up to the courts and we are very careful not to fuck with them. They are expected to have the charges thrown out soon…

A. Well, I’ll pray for them. I have to go now so I’ll get back to you later. Don’t forget to send someone for the list

B. OK.

Palast Charged with Journalism in the First Degree

September 11, 2006
by Greg Palast

It's true. It's weird. It's nuts. The Department of Homeland Security, after a five-year hunt for Osama, has finally brought charges against … Greg Palast. I kid you not. Send your cakes with files to the Air America wing at Guantanamo.

Though not just yet. Fatherland Security has informed me that television producer Matt Pascarella and I have been charged with unauthorized filming of a "critical national security structure" in Louisiana.

On August 22, for LinkTV and Democracy Now! we videotaped the thousands of Katrina evacuees still held behind a barbed wire in a trailer park encampment a hundred miles from New Orleans. It's been a year since the hurricane and 73,000 POW's (Prisoners of W) are still in this aluminum ghetto in the middle of nowhere. One resident, Pamela Lewis said, “It is a prison set-up" -- except there are no home furloughs for these inmates because they no longer have homes.

To give a sense of the full flavor and smell of the place, we wanted to show that this human parking lot, with kids and elderly, is nearly adjacent to the Exxon Oil refinery, the nation's second largest, a chemical-belching behemoth.

So we filmed it. Without Big Brother's authorization. Uh, oh. Apparently, the broadcast of these stinking smokestacks tipped off Osama that, if his assassins pose as poor Black folk, they can get a cramped Airstream right next to a "critical infrastructure" asset.

So now Matt and I have a "criminal complaint" lodged against us with the feds.

The positive side for me as a journalist is that I get to see our terror-busters in action. I should note that it took the Maxwell Smarts at Homeland Security a full two weeks to hunt us down.

Frankly, we were a bit scared that, given the charges, we wouldn't be allowed on a plane into New York last night. But what scared us more is that we were allowed on the plane.

Once I was traced, I had a bit of an other-worldly conversation with my would-be captors. Detective Frank Pananepinto of Homeland Security told us, "This is a 'Critical Infrastructure' … and they get nervous about unauthorized filming of their property.

Well, me too, Detective. In fact, I'm very nervous that this potential chemical blast-site can be mapped in extreme detail at this Google Map location

What also makes me nervous is that the Bush Terror Terriers have kindly indicated on the Internet that this unprotected critical infrastructure can be targeted -- I mean located -- at 30º 29' 11" N Latitude and 91º 11' 39" W Longitude.

After I assured Detective Pananepinto, "I can swear to you that I'm not part of Al Qaeda," he confirmed that, "Louisiana is still part of the United States," subject to the first amendment and he was therefore required to divulge my accuser.

Not surprisingly, it was Exxon Corporation, one of a handful of companies not in love with my investigations. [See "A Well-Designed Disaster: the Untold Story of the Exxon Valdez."]

The thing about the falseness of the Left/Right dichotomy is that the Left is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the Right.

There is no distinguishing between left and right when you only consider the visible face of politics. There is such a thing as leftist philosohpy, of which the likes of Clinton and Kerry are terrified to acknowledge, much less espouse.

There are REAL practicing leftists the world over, tho they may not have any power. Trillions of dollars and oceans of blood have been shed for at least 50 years in the covert and overt campaigns to neutralize any effort on the part of workers, peasants, intellectuals and others to have any real impact on the policies of nations, and therefore the lives of ordinary people. To say that rightists have fought the same battles for peace and justice, ie there is "no difference", is patently absurd.

The right holds the line at the phony "progressives" to keep the rest of us hemmed in, continually fighting the gatekeepers for a place at the table. This is true everywhere (except maybe Venezuela)and it might serve to hold down the bloodshed, but meanwhile, the line keeps getting pushed back, until one day, it will be outright illegal to be a leftist.

If you don't think all the blood, money, and lives have been wasted in a war against leftists (aka workers) gaining a foothold, you haven't been paying attention.

WOOPS October surprise FALSE FLAG ATTACK conversation is here:neither of the parties are identified, although their telephone numbers are. One, the A party, is calling from a telephone located inside Washington’s plush Hay-Adams hotel while the second, the B party, is using the main telephone number of the United States Attorney’s office in New York City. It should be fairly obvious that one of the parties, the one in Washington, has some connection with the staff of the Vice President. The call was recorded on August 18, 2006 and I am only showing a portion of it. The rest of what was a 20 minute call is filled with trivia.

A @ 202 638-6600 (Washington, D.C.)

B @ 212 637-2200 (New York City, N.Y.)
……
A: Of course you never know what is serious, what can happen, what will happen and what is only wishful thinking. But there is enough there….

B: How much have you actually seen…or heard? I mean factually, not just latrine rumors.

A: Plenty. In a twisted way, it makes sense. I suppose it does. Anyway, I have nothing to do with it and just knowing about something in advance is not a crime, unless someone can find a paper or remember a conversation that is.

B: Before the fact.

A: Right. That’s why I say you and your family should leave your nice Big Apple place about the ninth of October and go visit your relatives in Arizona. Then you can watch it on CNN.

B: How long a vacation?

A: Why not a week either way?

B: And you? Any vacation for you? But you don’t have any kids or plants to take care of.

A: True but Georgetown is pretty safe. New York won’t be. God knows what kind of chemicals will be in the air and a good wind coming from Jersey could bring some nasty surprises. Isn’t it better to be safe than sorry?

B: Sure. But packing up means stories to everyone and I would have to be cool and collected about it. The kids would miss Halloween parties if I stay long enough and there is school to consider. I suppose I ought to call home and get them to invite me. I can’t just drop in on them.

A: No but try not to sound concerned. How long since you’ve seen them out there?

B: About a year, give or take. I’ll start on this right away. Will you be involved?

A: Shit no. I told you I want to know nothing about all of this and…

B: No, no, no….I mean will you have to go down there?

A: No. I’m not important enough. He might not even go. He will probably put Bush up to going to show the flag as he could say, while he does what he’s been doing for six years now and that’s running the country. No, he’ll stay right here and make sure he can keep his eyes and his hands on everything. I know he’s been writing speeches and policy statements on this because I’ve seen several when I have been filing.

B: Does he know you look at things?

A: Christ, I hope not. I just smile and look admiring and once in a while, I get a brief smile or a nod. He wants so much to be the real President but it will never happen. Too many people hate him. He’s not all that bad privately but officially, he’s a real Beria, if you know what I mean. Competent, very much so, and cold as ice. Jesus, he really does not like Bush at all. I have heard him say things about him…he thinks he’s a basket case. You know, it’s funny because when he put himself on the ticket, he had no idea Bush would be such an intransigent nut. But he’s been waiting for real power for years and now that he has it, he’s not going to blow it. I don’t know why he just doesn’t cash in his stock options when the term is over and retire and write books. He’s got a really bum ticker and he could go at any time.

B: Quadruple bypass, right?

A: Oh yes, and he takes more pills than a hippie.

B: Then why does he care?

A: His precious party might lose everything he has worked towards for so many years, that’s why. If they lose in November, don’t forget, there could be investigations and I can tell you what with the stock business and the hidden bank accounts, he’d spend his last years in a Federal jail somewhere.

B: They think they’ll never get caught…

A: Or die. Anyway, you know enough not to tell your wife or anyone else about this heads up, don’t you. Two ways to get secret information out. Telephone and tell a woman.

B: My wife isn’t that way at all but I take your drift. I say nothing. But won’t one of the perps get sloshed and tell some cunt about it? Or his priest?

A: Don’t worry about priests. They’re using Jews for this one, like the last time. I think it’s rabbis, not priests.

B: They were involved in 2001…

A: Yes and they passed it on, knowing nothing would be done. And no one is going to nail them on this one because they can snitch about the last one. Hell, they’ve been using that one for leverage for five years now. They’re smart assholes, I’ll give them that.

B: Why that target and not something like the Liberty Bell? Or they could blow up a plane with a lot of top Democrats on board, right?

A: If the refinery goes, you can see and hear it in your apartment. No damage to New York but plenty of dramatic fireworks. Keep the media busy for months. At least it will be better than the Aruba adventure. You have to keep the number of in-the-know people down to about three. The hebe guy running this operation is from DC originally and Interpol is after him for his operation down under. Linden is right on the water and it’s easy in and easy out…if they’re lucky. Oh, and here’s a nice touch. They want to leave a dead raghead behind, like some guard shot him. I mean someone they have in jail, over there, not here, with a long record of militant activity and I mean well-documented. And one of my man’s people will accidentally discover him nice and dead with all kinds of fake evidence in his pockets, for certain putting the blame on bin Laden. And that’s a joke because bin Laden has been dead since ’03.

B: Did we ice him somewhere?

A: No. Kidney failure in a paki hospital. He makes a good boogeyman. You know the drill: If you don’t vote for us, the rotten, weak faggot Democrats will take over and bin Laden will rejoice and kill all of you.

B: It has worked before as I remember. Red Alerts and duct tape.

A: And then we can have real Red Alert days, just before elections.

B: As usual. Not to change the subject but how do you think the immigration votes will go? My people live in Tucson and they are worried sick about all of the beaners shooting each other over drugs. What will happen?

A: What do you think? They supply our friendly agribusiness tycoons with slave labor so we make a lot of noise and do nothing.

B: McCain…

A: He’s a nut. I guess being locked up in a zipperhead jail in solitary for five years snapped him.

…………

Editor’s note: Bayway Refinery is a refining facility used by ConocoPhillips, located in Linden, New Jersey. This is the northernmost refinery on the East Coast of the United States.

Extraordinary Ability

There are people who have extraordinary abilities. By this, I mean things most average everyday people disregard. Natural telekinesis, pyrokinesis, extreme clairvoyance, way above average perceptions, clairaudience, the ability to put thoughts in or will the minds of others, the ability to use one's bioelectricity to shut down, disable and/or affect sensitive electrical equipment- computers, televisions and other abilities are all examples of extraordinary ability. These gifts can also result from power meditations.

If you find you have these abilities, keep them to yourself. Unbeknownst to many, the CIA, NSA, and other world powers have programs where they use people with these abilities.* People who have these abilities are a serious threat to the powers that be, because they cannot be controlled. The movie "Hearts in Atlantis" though a work of fiction, has much basis in fact. Gifted people who are under their thumb are able to sense others with the same abilities. There aren't too many people with extraordinary abilities just walking around freely out there. For those with abilities, you know what I am saying- when you come into contact with another person who has these abilities- they could be in the drugstore, supermarket, restaurant- you can sense them and they can sense you. You are aware of each other.

This is because you both have an open energy field. You must program your aura (which is usually very large) to go about undetected if you wish to maintain your privacy. You can also program your aura not to affect electrical equipment unless you intend it to do so. You do this simply by telling it to stop doing what you don't want it to do. This may take several times, but should be effective.

The same goes for thought reading. You program your aura so others cannot pick up on your thoughts. Of course, one with a much stronger energy field can overpower someone who is weaker, regardless of programming, but programming to go undetected should serve its purpose here.

The USA, world powers, even China have programs where they employ psychics and those with abilities that one only sees in the movies. These people do not have freedom. They are used and many times murdered when they no longer serve a useful purpose to their employers.¹

Father Satan works with and protects those who have abilities. He protects us and when we are ready, he works to show us how we can empower ourselves to our fullest extent. Those who are without go it alone and their lives usually end in disaster.

Those in power deny the existence of this kind of thing, making public statements that it was a "failure" and so on. This is not true.²

For those of you with exceptional ability (very few in this group- you know who you are) I strongly encourage you to dedicate your abilities to Father Satan in a ritual. He will protect you, work with you, and guide you. This can be a lonely road, as others freak, are shocked, and/or become frightened.
When others know our secrets, they have power over us. Remember this. Keep your secrets and you never have to worry. Above all- to the kids here- learn to develop control. Don't ever brag or show off. You can come to the attention of the wrong people.

*Secret, Don't Tell; The Encyclopedia of Hypnotism, by Carla Emery, 1997
On July 9, 1990, six U.S. military intelligence analysts form 701st Military Intelligence Brigade at Augsburg, West Germany, at that time the biggest NSA listening post in the world outside the U.S. tuned into Soviet communications, all with Top Secret security clearance, deserted their posts.

They went AWOL (Absent WithOut Leave).

From there, they made their way to Chattanooga, Tennessee, then drove to the Pensacola suburb, Gulf Breeze, Fla, where they were brutally rounded up by a squad of military hunters that had a license to kill.

When captured, they were kept incommunicado, until their presence was leaked out to the press.

Surprisingly enough, instead of being severely punished or even executed by the military tribunal, they were discharged from U.S. Military with full honors.

A Pentagon spokesman stated that the six were a member of a "group" called "The End of the World," but later retracted the statement, saying that there was no such group as far as they cold tell.

Two years later their case become declassified, but 1.400 out of 1.600 pages of official documents and notes upon group's Ouija board sessions remain inaccessible to the public.

In this interview Vance Davis, one of Gulf Breeze 6, currently one of the most estimated Remote Viewers, among other things explicitly states who was and is behind the past and current world events, and that the antichrist will appear on scene in 2006.

Parts of his statements are supported by other sources some of which state that by the Spring 2004, an invasive bio-neurological, electro magnetically induced form of mind control, which will block higher sensory abilities, is to be implemented onto humanity. Holographic Inserts are to be used by 2006.

Holographic inserts?
Interesting?
The 1400 pages from the 1600 page report remain sealed.

Nothing here folks ,move along now.

From: 'OUR HAUNTED PLANET', by John A. Keel (1968. Fawcett Publications., Greenwich, Conn.):

"...The parahuman Serpent People of the past are still among us. They were probably worshipped by the builders of Stonehenge and the forgotten ridge-making cultures of South America.

"...In some parts of the world the Serpent People successfully posed as gods and imitated the techniques of the superintelligence. This led to the formation of pagan religions centered around human sacrifices. The conflict, so far as man himself was concerned, became one of religions and races. Whole civilizations based upon the worship of these false gods rose and fell in Asia, Africa, and South America. The battleground had been chosen, and the mode of conflict had been decided upon.

"The human race would supply the pawns. The mode of control was complicated as usual. Human beings were largely free of direct control. Each individual HAD TO CONSCIOUSLY COMMIT HIMSELF TO ONE OF THE OPPOSING FORCES...

"The main battle was for what was to become known as the human soul.

"Once an individual had committed himself, he opened a door so that an indefinable something could actually enter his body and exercise some control over his subconscious mind.

"...the Serpent People or Omega Group, attacked man in various ways, trying to rid the planet of him. But the superintelligence was still able to look over man... God worked out new ways of communication and control, always in conflict with the Serpent People."

Man I really loved that paperback it sparked my interest.

It has been said that all warfare is spiritual and of the mind.

And what is "mindwar?" "The term is harsh and fear-inspiring," Aquino wrote. "And it should be: It is a term of attack and victory-not one of rationalization and coaxing and conciliation. The enemy may be offended by it; that is quite all right as long as he is defeated by it. A definition is offered: Mindwar is the deliberate, aggressive convincing of all participants in a war that we will win that war."

For Aquino, "mindwar" is a permanent state of strategic psychological warfare against the populations of friend and foe nations alike. "In its strategic context, mindwar must reach out to friends, enemies and neutrals alike across the globe ... through the media possessed by the United States which have the capabilities to reach virtually all people on the face of the Earth. These media are, of course, the electronic media-television and radio. State of the art developments in satellite communication, video recording techniques, and laser and optical transmission of broadcasts make possible a penetration of the minds of the world such as would have been inconceivable just a few years ago." Above all else, Aquino argues, mindwar must target the population of the United States, "by denying enemy propaganda access to our people, and by explaining and emphasizing to our people the rationale for our national interest. ... Rather it states a whole truth that, if it does not now exist, will be forced into existence by the will of the United States."

Morphed into this

"We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."

<< "If humanity still has hope of survival," writes the Zapatistas' Subcommandante Marcos, "that hope is in the pockets formed by the excluded ones, the left-overs, the ones who are disposible." If that makes sense to you, then you agree that left and right remain valid categories, even unto the parapolitical depths. >>

what, so people on the right are never excluded? never "left-over"? never disposible?

where tf do you get your ideas about the right? do you think those poor idiots in kansas who actually voted for bush are not 100% expendable?

i must be missing your meaning here, because marcos' comments make perfect sense to me, but your leap from there to left and right seems nonsensical from where i am sitting.

We can all probably agree that the Left in its idealized expression more often supports the common man than does the Right. >>

with all due respect, i think this is missing the point. there are two things to distinguish here: the potentially imaginary division of politicians into left and right, and the actual division of the proles into left and right, as accomplished by the powers that be.

actually, the idealized form of the right is also very supportive of the common person. perhaps you cannot see that because you are a prole to the left, who does not know how to identify with or understand a prole to the right. (this is, after all, the basic idea - to divide the proles and play them against each other.) for example, can you understand how a common person might benefit from the second ammendment? from lower taxes on the middle class?

"Our challenge is to remove this burdensome yoke, for it is not the natural state of Man. We know that, we feel that, and that is why most of us are here, because we don't accept that yoke as the final analysis. How do we remove the yoke without replacing it with another?"

A book of ideas here. I've said it before here....

"Increasingly, as the vision for the bioregional state became clearer, it appeared as a wholesale overhaul of existing democratic theory justifications as well as formal institutional design principles to demote corruptions in practice that were left unaddressed 250 years ago when the European Enlightenment began to concern itself with formalized institutions of democracy as a replacement for royal states. However, building on this heritage and even improving it instead of removing anything, the assortment of strategic ideas in the bioregional state is based on adding different levels of checks and balances that focus on how political power abuses operate in practice to support environmental degradation instead of to support sustainability and how such abuses in turn operate in practice to demote democratic competition of parties instead of support it.

Thus, the bioregional state continued an interest in faciliating competitive party democracy as much as human health, ecological, and economic security.

Soon, I found that 'theoretically' the main thread through all the additional checks and balances were coaleasing around was the demotion of the 'gatekeeping issue,' i.e., the demotion of the informal clientelism issue of power that destroys both competitive democracy as well destroys citizenship developmental feedback toward ecological security.

That same issue of gatekeeping and clientelism in democracy takes the blame for supporting and expanding ecological and human health damage as well.

Thus, the issues of democratic faciliation and ecological security circled back on each other and were shown to be one in the same.

etc. etc. at the book, for those interested.

Bioregional democracy (or the Bioregional State) is a set of electoral reforms and commodity reforms designed to force the political process in a democracy to better represent concerns about the economy, the body, and environmental concerns (e.g., water quality), toward developmental paths that are locally prioritized and tailored to different areas for their own specific interests of sustainability and durability. This movement is variously called bioregional democracy, watershed cooperation, or bioregional representation, or one of various other similar names—all of which denote democratic control of a natural commons and local jurisdictional dominance in any economic developmental path decisions—while not removing more generalized civil rights protections of a larger national state.

Historically, according to the 'business encyclopedia' Hoovers.com, there was a Dresser Industries/Halliburton link that has only been demoted recently.

Another Dresser subsidiary was part of Ingersoll-Rand.

With about 130 plants worldwide, the company makes refrigeration equipment (Thermo King, Hussmann) used mostly in trucks and supermarkets, locks and security systems (Schlage, Kryptonite), construction equipment (pavers, light towers, portable compressors), industrial equipment (generators, turbines, and the like), and heavy equipment and golf carts (Compact Vehicle Technologies).

Since 2003 Ingersoll-Rand has sold its Torrington and Dresser-Rand subsidiaries, which included the manufacture of precision bearings and fluid-control devices, respectively.

The company makes centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, generators, steam and gas turbines, expanders, multiphase turbine separators, and related control systems. It also offers aftermarket services such as repair, technical support, and upgrades for both its own products and equipment made by others.

Dresser-Rand has customers in the oil and gas production, chemical, paper, steel, and industrial power and energy recovery markets.

Once a subsidiary of Ingersoll-Rand, Dresser-Rand was bought by private equity firm First Reserve, which specializes in energy industry investments, in 2004; First Reserve now owns about 31% of the company.

[They own more now, as of a later writing, see below, they basically bought it up privately, and then spun it off back into the stock market, though keeping 90% of the stock it seems.]

First Reserve Corporation fuels the companies that help fuel the world. The private equity firm invests in mid-market energy companies, and currently manages about $4.7 billion in four funds. Its typical investment ranges from $50 million to $500 million.

Included in the firm's portfolio are Dresser (First Reserve owns more than 90% of the company), Pride International, Quanta Services, and Superior Energy Services.

First Reserve fund investors are primarily corporations, endowments, foundations, and public retirement funds.

In 2004 First Reserve acquired Dresser-Rand Group, which it took public in 2005. Later that year, it acquired engineered products maker Chart Industries.

Dresser was where George H. W. Bush went to work, straight out of Bones and Yale (and very likely with Dresser whole world infrastruture as serving as a CIA asset--with all those oil platforms from which it is known that the CIA coup against Castro utilized.)

Is your energy business all dressed up with no place to flow? Not if Dresser can help it. The company, formerly Dresser Industries (and once a part of Halliburton), makes flow control products (valves, actuators, and the like for oil and gas exploration), measurement systems (gas pumps and point of sale terminals made by business unit Dresser Wayne for gas stations and convenience stores), and power systems (Waukesha engines and Roots blowers and compressors). Dresser's flow control segment also makes diagnostic equipment and injection pumps. The company maintains a presence in more than 100 countries, with manufacturing or support facilities in more than 20.

curzon,

Michael Leeden was a curious choice for an example. I might have done better to use Hilary of Kerry as the example. Much simpler. However, and this is not my bag, I do believe that Mr. Leeden and his ilk had many Marxist teachers.

Synonymous,

You are correct to catch the inconsistency between the sloppy first sentence and how it weakens the later argument. Personally, I consider that ideology, gurus and religion all cause one to follow prescriptive responses to situations rather than cultivating more authentic relations to the environment. These things however seem to provide a necessary refuge for most people so perhaps we can find the positive elements within them.
Anyway, while this site may have a ‘Left’ bias, the lefties seem more open to deconstruction of their pretences. I mean, really- what did you get back for your tax cut. More pretty words and for every bill that congress signs we visit more sins on our children. I would not last five minutes on a typical ‘right’ site and I am a conservative person.

actually, the idealized form of the right is also very supportive of the common person. perhaps you cannot see that because you are a prole to the left, who does not know how to identify with or understand a prole to the right. (this is, after all, the basic idea - to divide the proles and play them against each other.) for example, can you understand how a common person might benefit from the second ammendment? from lower taxes on the middle class?

You don't know from leftists, buddy. All you know are the triangulating fools who live in your idiot box.

Ever hear of Che Guevara? Fidel Castro? Armed leftists guerilla's? Chavez is arming every adult in Venezuela as we speak. (now that's security, in several senses of the word!)Look here.

As for taxes, a progressive tax that leaned more heavily on corporations could enable us all to live more comfortably, both middle and working class.

Perhaps lefty "proles" could get together with righties if the extreme right would stop enabling corporations to bust unions.

Jeff said...But America's still on the road, with much of the rest of the world strapped in the backseat, barrelling towards it's final destination.

Hello Jeff. I hope things are going well with you.

If our final destination is being piloted by high level Communists and Nazis, then the study of these two systems provide some answers about the road we are travelling on. You know the Nazis were indebted to a number of occult secret societies. The Order of the New Templars, the Edda Society, the Thule and Vril societies are some of their affiliations.

But many students do not realize that the Nazi's persecuted German Masonic lodges and individuals associated with Rosicrucianism and Theosophy. This persecution of occultism even led to the suppression of some of the Germanic orders that originally watered the philosophical roots of Nazism, including the Order of the New Templars, and the Germanan order.

Nordic/Germanic mysticism, such as Wotanism, was part and parcel of the Nazi system. The SS Division under Heinrich Himmler was rife with occult doctrines and deeper mystical brotherhoods. Unquestionably, the SS was a new Germanic occult military order, complete with it's own ceremonies, rituals, rites, doctrines, symbols, and mythologies.

The SS was more than just an effective and terrifying arm of the Nazi war machine, it was an armed occult priesthood. Nazism and Communism are intrinsically linked to a deeply rooted version of Germanic occultism and an extreme version of atheism. Clearly these two influences are manipulating us to view Christianity as an evil, dominant creation of the human mind. It's present value held worthy in denouncement and/or using it to benefit any occultic purposes.

The obliteration of canonical Christian theology based on faith in Christ is part and parcel to the world's final destination without exception.

Sunny,
I’m curious about this:

"If you don't think all the blood, money, and lives have been wasted in a war against leftists (aka workers) gaining a foothold, you haven't been paying attention."

Am I right in interpreting this as a belief that despite all the blood, money and lives spent killing the Left, it is, in the words of Johhny Winter, “still alive and well"? ("Every now and then I know it’s kind of hard to tell, but I’m still alive and well”) If so, in what sense? Nostalgia, sentimental attachment, stubborn refusal to concede that our rights have been bought and sold, stuffed into the mold? Or maybe the conviction that unless we suffer self-inflicted extinction, evolution will eventually take care of the parasites in charge so the meek can finally inherit the earth (or what’s left of it)?

Starroute,
I really dig Dr. Brooks’ view, but I wonder, not having read further than what you’ve shared with us here, whether he might have tossed off any predictions as to what’s next? It reminds me somewhat of Julian Steward’s cultural ecology—is this about right?

Yes, to humblenotry on that historical 'high wierdness' of the Nazis. However, when they went into power, they attempted I think to stop other groups of secret societies to be able to organize independently of whomever was already in power.

(This was the same with heavily Masonic Napoleonic movement attempting to outlaw secret societies once in power, for another example.)

The best book I have read on the occult Nazis that gets into the strategy of how they literally rewired the whole German state, its courts, its institutions of education within 10 years, its youth, its military, is the book:

Gods and Beasts: the Nazis and the Occult

The Third Reich was an institutional endeavor, which is unable to be stressed enough. Because Bushes are using the same institutional endeavors, even to calling centralized secret police "Homeland Security" just like Bush, which is basically what the long-typingchallenged-words in German that came to be known as "SS."

They wanted to remove local jurisdictions and all competitive parties throughout Germany to make by default instead of by popularity the political crony centralized administration of all things, increasingly related to "security"

In the United States, this has led to Homeland Security going after Rubics Cube sellers,

"Pufferbelly Toys owner Stephanie Cox, who received a visit from Homeland Security, who commanded her to remove a rubic's cube copy..."
http://prisonplanet.tv/audio/091104cox.htm

and other crazy things to recently going after Greg Palast, investigative reporter.

"Greg Palast is facing a criminal complaint from the Department of Homeland Security stemming from his filming the Hurricane Katrina investigation for Link TV and Democracy Now....

It's true. It's weird. It's nuts. The Department of Homeland Security, after a five-year hunt for Osama, has finally brought charges against ... Greg Palast.

One resident, Pamela Lewis said, "It is a prison set-up" -- except there are no home furloughs for these inmates because they no longer have homes.
link to www.gregpalast.com

Detective Frank Pananepinto of Homeland Security told us, "This is a 'Critical Infrastructure' ... and they get nervous about unauthorized filming of their property.

Well, me too, Detective. In fact, I'm very nervous that this potential chemical blast-site can be mapped in extreme detail at this Google Map location."

Just a slight correction: there was a direct corollary to "Homeland Security" in the 3rd Reich, but it wasn't the SS. It was called the Reichssicherheitsamt, which translates pretty much as HS. The SS was something entirely different. Was this information in this Nazi/Occult book you mentioned? If so, it makes one skeptical in advance...

To cuttle:

No, after looking it up I was thinking of the "Geheime Staatspolezei." A translation is "Home Nation Police." A near approximation would be "Secret Office of Homeland Security." But the group is known throughout the world by its more sinister appellation: "Gestapo."...

The "Gestapo" (contraction of Geheime Staatspolizei) could additoinally be translated "secret state police")

In short, "secret Homeland Security organization" is the common theme.

What I mistakenly mentioned, just for my benefit of learning, was the SS, Schutzstaffel, German for "Protective Squadron". This of course is exactly like the "protective squadron" that surrounds the U.S. President wherever he goes and it serves the same purpose. That was invented right after the 1901 assassination that put Teddy Roosevelt into power when he was elected to be only VP.

And it was TR that brought in the Bonesmen in, en masse.

Just another one of those coincidences we all hear about...

After WWII, the song "Hail (Heil!) to the Chief") started getting associated with the state executive visits, surrounded by his own little SS (Secret Service).

And with the U.S. calling the protective squadron around the President the "Secret Service" (SS),
when the SS in Nazi germany, Schutzstaffel was the "Protective Squadron" the "Gestapo" could be translated as "secret state police".

Just another one of those "funny coincidences", ya think?

Actually, if you really want to get into Nazi/Bush comparisons, Google up "Enabling Act and Patriot Act".

Lots of Nazi jokers out there...

No, that didn't come from that book. It was from a web article discussing the Nazification of Germany I read several years ago though am unable to find right now.... If I find it I'll post a link.

Besides, as you say, if you're "skeptical in advance" you'll never learn anything, will you, unless it already fits a preconceived filter. That ain't learnin'. That's "if it feels like something I already know and am comfortable with, I'll look into it!" Unless you read to challenge your basic premises, in the interest of improving them, you never learn a thing. You merely elaborate and decorate your personal boundaries.

You are right when you uncover the criminals in the Power but you are naive when you don´t realize that the powers that be have created the Left. They are Satanists, that is related with Power, it has nothing to do with nazis or fascists, they seek Power, the means are absolutely irrelevant for them, they can use the Left to enjoy that Power.

It is strange that your own preferences blind you.

Anonymous,
I do have some opinions on the (obvious) parallels between Nazis then and now. All I said was that DHS was the RA (home of the geheime staatspolizei [ge-sta-po], as well as several intelligence units with important, and disgusting, roles within the insane machine), not SS. You don't have to get all excited and call me closed minded because you're embarrassed about writing some thing that's sensationalist and unnecessary--the Nazis were/are a vile enough danger without calling DHS the SS just because most people haven't heard of the RA, or bringing attention to the fact that the secret service can also be abbreviated "SS".

There are far more significant similarities than these clownish attempts at "making connections". Department of Homeland Security is pretty close to Reichssicherheitsamt ("Sicherheit" is security, "Amt" is office, do with "Reich" what you will.) The one point where you were quite correct was the Enabling Act/
Patriot Act convergence, and this would be useful knowledge is only it were common.

(not directed at you in particular, sounder, but) The much-vaunted Republican "tax cuts" amounted to nothing of the sort since they immmediately turned around and began deficit spending us into the ground, setting a record $10 billion in debt by the time Bush leaves office.

DEFICIT SPENDING IS A TAX! I wish more "conservatives" would get their heads around this. If you want low taxes and small government, the Democratic party has been proven to take these goals more seriously than the Republicans.

It does not count as a "tax cut" if you then go and spend more money than the tax cut could ever possibly generate!

(none of which even touches the fact that the actual debt is likely much, much higher, but hidden by accounting.)

My $.02: While there may be some qualitative difference between the "True" right vs. the "True" left, it seems to me that the constant misuse/abuse of those lables has rendered them pretty useless. Too much emotional baggage has been attached to them (this is the same reason I dislike using the word 'God'). If you need to slap a lable on the political extremes, a more accurate way to do it would be to use terms that actually correspond to the relationships between the actors involved. The real political struggle isn't between the left and right (which are both at the bottom of the pyrimid structure), but between the bottom and the top (the capstone isn't to the left or right). Of course, bottom/top also carries it's own load of symantic luggage. How's about 'Givers' and 'Takers'?

I don't have much emotional investment in this, but a Lew Rockwell "anti-State, pro-Market" type would chime in to say something along the lines of "but the corporations will only pass along the increased taxes to the consumer in the form of higher prices." Nowadays they would add "and if we do that to American companies, they won't be competitive in the marketplace." The same folks reject tariffs as being "anti-capitalist." It's like a catch-22, where the immortal corporations (and their shareholders) always come out ahead.

People forget that before 1913, before the income tax (and Federal Reserve Act) were put in place, the federal gov. made its money largely from tariffs. Now, of course, the board has been reversed: corporations pay very little in the way of tax, and consumers foot the bill (ie. pay off the interest on the money loaned by private bankers). It's demand-side taxation, to flip Reaganomics on its head.

The Federal Reserve Act has poisoned the waters for the past 90 years. I've always liked the saying, "you know who your true masters are: the ones you can't criticize." Try having a conversation with a small-town banker about the Fed. It will end very quickly. Aaron Russo is a brave man to take on that particular goblin. Nothing occult about it (or any of Sutton's findings, either), just plain-old greed and currency monopolization. It's why Jefferson and Andrew Jackson were so dead set against a central bank. (Yay for Aaron Burr!) I have two words to explain all of economics; simple-minded, perhaps, but here they are:

Nice article today on Hamiltonian Mercantilism and the Betrayal of the American Revolution over at LRC. Excerpt:

"What motivated Taylor to write New Views of the Constitution of the United States was the alarming fact that, by the 1820s, the men in American politics who still dreamed of reigning over a mercantilist empire began mis-educating the public about the true history of the founding. They did so by repeating Hamilton’s arguments, which were so thoroughly rejected by the convention. As Taylor described it, the public was being told that "the devil, thus repeatedly exorcized, still remains in the church" (p. 36). The "devil," of course, was the notion that the states were not sovereign over the central government that they had created as their agent. The truth, as Taylor explained, was that "by the constitution, the states may take away all the powers of the federal government, whilst that government is prohibited from taking away a single power reserved to the states."

In otherwords, those who aren't rapists in disguise, are sexually incompetent, at best, and highly deviant, at worse.

I'm with Starroute. I don't want to undue what we have now merely to put these Lew Rockwell John Birch rapists in the wings in power.

Anonymous, Dude! Let's halt the bitchfest, pleeease! I wasn't in any way trying to be superior. Okay, I did get a little antagonistic there, for which I humbly apologize, but it was only because I'm really bothered by all this occult crap. Maybe it works; maybe I just can't stand the thought of it and my aversion blinds me to the real role that this shit plays in the big drama, but whatever the cause, it irked me to see these silly links between Nazis then and Nazis now when there are so many truly significant connections. If somebody reads a claim such as "DHS means SS in English," and then finds out it doesn't, then that person is likely to be disinclined to believe the real connections and parallels.

So, please, retract your barbed harpoon--we both agree that very little has changed in some crucial respects between these bookend Ages of Nazism. Peacepipe?

On to the internet phenomenon of Nazi Secrets/Nazi Gold/Nazi Occult stuff: Why all the magical thinking? Isn't Paperclip, and the pre-war/war-time/post-war collusion between Nazis on both sides of the Allied/Axis line enough to explain what we're dealing with here? Granted, there was a good deal of occultism going on, a real "hodge-podge" as one poster puts it, but what did it amount to--how much did it help them in the end?

There was, for example, an effort made to form a sort of Nazi Church, complete with ersatz wedding rituals for the SS (very heavy on pseudo-runes and blood-and-soil Wagnerian pastoral idylls), but even among the "faithful," the true believers, these phony rituals very quickly fell into disuse. It was half-assed quackery, at best; delusional ravings which didn't help them at all. Much more to the point were the technological advances made by Nazi scientists, an area in which occultism played a very dubious role, if at all.

It is true that the worldview of the Nazis did free them, to some extent, of the confines of conventional science, but it is unclear whether the many, many technological innovations were the result of this Nazi Weltanschauung, which had a crippling effect on scholarship in Nazi Germany, or simply due to the famous German ingenuity being sent into overdrive through massive funding and a terrible pressure to achieve results.

There were hundreds, if not thousands, of wartime patents in every field which promised military applications (chemistry, metallurgy, aviation, electronics, etc.), which was why the East and the West were so desperate to scoop up Nazi scientists after the war, but none of the scientists themselves, even Werner von Braun, who did finally speak out near the end of his life, ever suggested that the occult played any role in their discoveries. Göring was a caricature of himself whom they ridiculed and detested, in part for his ridiculous notions of myth and magic.

Nick Cook does suggest that Schauberger was able to harness free energy with his vortex system and there is some evidence that antigravitational effects were also achieved, but that was science, not magic. Weird science, okay, granted, but given that suppression and control are the guardians of orthodox science, any significant departure is going to look a little strange. My point in all this is that it seems to me there are more than a few threads of disinformation at work in the Nazi Secrets! hype that's all over the internet. It scares off people who see the tabloid nature of these Neuschwabenland claims, making then less likely to listen to an expose of the Nazi infiltration of the US, it makes the notion of suppressed and stolen technologies also seem too outlandish to be real, and it distracts many of the people who are willing to consider these things with frivolous claims and a disgusting fetishism for all things Nazi. It discredits and glorifies simultaneously, and in the process hides the very real, if more "mundane" reality of the lingering (ongoing?) effects of Nazism in the world.

"Nationalities don't perpetrate crime, individuals do".

This is true, but the reasons for the crimes and whether foreign intelligence services and those with agendas on behalf of a foreign country, working together with homegrown fascists, were behing a mass murder that has completely changed the world we live in is worth looking into - - right? What is "antisemetic" in the comments as to Dov and the dancing Mossad agents of 911 . . . the facts are the facts . . . if a group of Irish Nationals who belonged to their intelligence agency were dancing around taking photos and cheering while the WTC burned this also would be worth noticing as well as if the facts showed that other Irish Nationals, with dual citizenship, were in strategic positions throughout the government having a very direct and specific effect on foreign policy in their belief that it could "help" Ireland - - but when these points are raised as to Israel the "antisemetic" (by the way, Arabs are "semites" too, right?) label that has been honed as a weapon since 1967 is wheeled out to shut everyone up and end any real discussion or investigation . . .

You know, we all have our little ways of fighting back and gaining a modicum of satisfaction.

For example, the route I take to work in the morning is generally clogged with traffic, slowing forward momentum to a crawl. Many drivers from side streets/lots beckon to be let in, and most of the time I let them in, but with several notable exceptions as follows:

1.) If they are coming out of Daycare Parking Lot

2.) If they are driving an SUV and/or Truck.

3.) If they are on the cell phone, or putting on their make-up.

If they meet all three criteria, I wave to them as I pass and then shoot them the bird.

What do you guys/gals do to get your own?

People are such ignorant jackasses. I swear, we have no hope.

Why do I say this....well, I'll tell you why. In the past several days, a priest who was President of my High School when I attended, passed away. He was a special person. There aren't many like him...he was very selfless.

A number of the alumni, including myself, posted an online tribute to him.....but invariably you get the fuckup who takes it too far. To set the tone of the tributes, here are a couple that were perfectly appropriate. They aren't my tribute, but mine is closely related to their sentiments.

My parents divorced the year I entered High School. After wrestling practice, Father Anony often drove me home before visiting his mother who lived nearby. Through his gentle and eloquent speech he guided and bettered me. He became a father to me. I suppose he was a father to us all, and cannot imagine a more Christ-like man. Every one of us who knew him was fortunate to be touched by the hand of God.

I will ALWAYS be indebted to Fr. Anony. He was with me during the
agonizing months that my daughter ( A 6 year old 1st
grader) suffered from a cancerous brain tumor and he was with me when
she passed into God's hands. He loved her so very much. I became ill, virtually suicidal from her death, but he counseled me and nurtured me back to health. I am always asked why I gave so much time to the School re: alumni participation and board service. But for Fr. Anony I would not be here. His incredulous love and mercy for me- his ability to FORGIVE my transgressions- forever inspired me to serve my alma mater in zealot-like fashion for 15 years. He was with my daughter during life, during her death & he passed away on the 23rd anniversary of her death- September 9th. He is a SAINT and I know they are together.

But then, along comes Mister Stooopid Freakin Army Man.

Fr. Anony was truly remarkable in his capacity to love, which I am sure we can all agree was unlimited. He was a mentor and a friend, never letting us forget that god has a purpose for us all.

Having just retired from 25 years of service with the Marine Corps, I look back and realize that Fr. Anony was a constant that directly and/or indirectly saw me through every hardship, challenge and ordeal that a life in the military presented over the years in every climb and place.

I am grateful that I got a chance to thank him every time I was home on leave, especially the last time earlier this year.

His sincerity never left any doubt, as he assured me that my visit that day meant a lot to him, yet I can't help feeling that I am the one who parted feeling more fortunate and blessed for the time spent in each other's company.......In hindsight it seems as if that was always the case

President Ronald Reagan once said "Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem."

I share that quote because although Fr. Anony was and is the picture of humility, I have to believe he knew he made a difference, we are all proof of that.

God bless you Fr. Anony and welcome you home.
Semper Fidelis!

Absolutely disgusting. How dare he compare the behavior of Marines with that of this kind and gentle man! What a numbskull! And to quote Ronald Reagan goes well beyond the pale.

What a fascist fruitcake.

At Least 12 Shot at Montreal College

By PHIL COUVRETTE
Associated Press Writer

MONTREAL (AP) -- A gunman in a black trench coat opened fire Wednesday in the cafeteria of a Montreal college and wounded at least 12 people - six critically - before shooting himself, witnesses and authorities said.

Scores of panicked students at Dawson College near downtown fled into the surrounding streets after the shooting broke out in the school of about 10,000. Some had clothes stained with blood.

Police spokesman Ean Lafreniere said there was just one gunman at the school and the search for any others was over.

Martine Millette of the Montreal police said the gunman later shot himself. Constable Philippe Gouin said "in all probability, the suspect has committed suicide."

CBC-TV showed police with guns drawn standing behind a police cruiser as a SWAT team swarmed the 12-acre campus.

Seeta Ramdass of Montreal General Hospital said 12 people, were admitted, including six who were in critical condition. Two were listed in serious condition and four were stable.

Student Devansh Smri Vastava said he saw a man in military fatigues with "a big rifle" storm the cafeteria.

"He just started shooting at people," Vastava said, adding that he heard about 20 shots fired. He also said teachers ran through the halls telling students to get out.

Other witnesses spoke of a gunman wearing a black trench coat....

Not fair, Luposapien--you posted the link while I was digging up quotes! Oh, well, like minds...

Here’s an answer, folks, from none other than R.A. Wilson, here explaining the impetus behind the Guns & Dope Party:

Both the pro-gun people and the dopers
[medical, religious and/or receational]
feel like minorities, and the TSOG [Tsarist Occupation Government]
agrees with this estimate of their weakness.
Our contention holds that in the West both groups
working together make a MAJORITY.
Ergo, they have much to gain and nowt to lose in combining forces.
Each side only has to realize this and agree

"We'll tolerate their hobbies if they'll tolerate ours"
and we can drive the Tsarists back to Russia!

Of course, following that seriously-intended mission statement, Wilson has to assure us he hasn’t suddenly found his mind:

First order of business on assuming office:
Fire 33% of the Congress [names selected at random]
and replace them with full-grown adult ostritches,
whose mysterious and awesome dignity will
elevate the suidaen barbarity long established there.

Does it get any saner?

Interesting discussion here.

I think even libertarians understand however how that "corporate libertarianism" entirely mocks such things they desire: the corporate appropriration of libertarian ideologies is what we seen in "free trade" for instance when all it is is corporate monopoly, crushing localism and actual competitive markets, with subsidies and cronyism for the transnational corporations to take over more of the planets' wealth. They use such libertarian ideologies as a mask, though that fails to mean that they are always a mask as well.

This goes for those on the left as well. Just because some evil international bankers in New York utilize left wing communism, fails to mean that left wing communism is always a mask for them as well.

An interesting book or two on the historical use of libertarian/(neo)liberal ideologies and so called "free the market" ideeologies as a form of masked state social engineeering and corporate control historically--at least in European societies or other areas of the world touched or related in some way to the British Empire:

The Invention of Capitalism: Classical Political Economy and the Secret History of Primitive Accumulation by Michael Perelman (Paperback - May 2000)

Book Description

The originators of (the ideologis of the soon to be neoliberal/libertarian) "classical political economy"-—Adam Smith, David Ricardo, James Steuart, and others--created a discourse that explained the logic, the origin, and, in many respects, the essential rightness of capitalism. But, in the great texts of that discourse, these writers downplayed a crucial requirement for capitalism’s creation: For it to succeed, peasants would have to be forced by the State to abandon their self-sufficient lifestyle and go to work for wages in a factory. Why would they willingly do this?

Clearly, they did not go willingly. As Michael Perelman shows, they were forced into the factories with the active support of the same economists [forcing and encouraging the use of the State to do it] who were [hypocrically] making theoretical claims for capitalism as a self-correcting mechanism that thrived without needing government intervention. Directly contradicting the laissez-faire principles they claimed to espouse, these men advocated government policies that deprived the peasantry of the means for self-provision in order to coerce these small farmers into wage labor.

To show how Adam Smith and the other classical economists appear to have deliberately obscured the nature of the control of labor and how policies attacking the economic independence of the rural peasantry were essentially conceived to foster primitive accumulation, Perelman examines diaries, letters, and the more practical writings of the classical economists.

He argues that these private and practical writings reveal the real [State pressured] intentions and goals of classical political economy--to separate a rural peasantry from their access to land.

This rereading of the history of classical political economy sheds important light on the rise of capitalism to its present state of world dominance. Historians of political economy and Marxist thought will find that this book broadens their understanding of how capitalism took hold in the industrial age. [And, it should be said, that those on the libertarian right will learn how their intellectual heros were just as Stalinistic and totalitarian as the people they hate.]

From the Publisher
“This study is to be admired for its comprehensiveness, scope, and the amount of unearthing and excavation Perelman provides. The indictment of political economists who addressed themselves to the matter of [using the State to force] primitive accumulation [instead of truly relying on their self-proclaimed self-correcting ideas of economics] is masterful.”—H. T. Wilson, York University

“After reading Michael Perelman's excellent book we see our world in different colors. The origin of market capitalism is the product of [State actors'--instead of neutral econmics--] strategies pursued to take away from people the conditions for developing alternative ways to live and produce. We also discover that classical political economy has been so instrumental in guiding these strategies. The book leaves us to wonder how the same mechanisms are reproduced today. This critical question pervades the book.”—Massimo De Angelis, University of East London

In other words, the great lauded "classical political economists" of the 1700s-1800s were just as much of a revolutionary Statist and revolutionary corporatist sham as anything talked about in the 20th century above.

One review states:

16 of 23 people found the following review helpful:
Classical Economists: Liberty lovers or Control Freaks?, February 2, 2002
Reviewer: Emily Dimov Gottshall (Altoona, PA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is the first book I've read that goes into much detail about the subject of primitive accumulation, and I'm impressed. Having an American History perspective, when I think about the social engineering behind a capitalist economy, I think about protective tariffs, slavery, moving Indians off the land, subsidies to canals and railroads, etc. It's fascinating to see that coercion and government involvement goes back much farther than that. And it's good to learn about some of the more forgotten political economists like James Steuart.

One does not have to be particularly leftist appreciate this book. Whether means to capitalist economic development was wrong or a "necessary evil", it's still extremely useful to know that things just didn't evolve naturally out of free exchange. The system was consciously engineered so that the "right sort" of people would be successful, and there's nothing sinister when people, through democratic choice, re-engineer things to bring about a reduction in income inequality, environmental protection, etc. ...

[However, there is somethign siniser to game the system by the State and then call it a neutral outcome, which is the control freak heritage of the classical political economists. The left does its revoluiontary "control freak" openly. The right elites hypocritically do State "control freak" actions on the sly and calls it neutral outcomes.]

Another book recommendation along these lines:

Late Victorian Holocausts: El Niño Famines and the Making of the Third World, by Mike Davis

From Publishers Weekly
While this book will not have the impact of Davis's City of Quartz--a scathing indictment of L.A.'s environmental ravagement, economic disparity and racial divides--in a perfect world, it would. Its subject is nothing less than the creation of what we now call "The Third World," through a complex series of seemingly disparate natural and market-related events beginning in the 1870s. Davis dives into the data and journalism of the period with a vengeance, showing that the seemingly unprecedented droughts across northern Africa, India and China in the 1870s and 1890s are consistent with what we now know to be El Ni¤o's effects, and that it was political and market forces (which are never impersonal, Davis insists), and not a lack of potential stores and transportation, that kept grain from the more than 50 million people who starved to death. Chapters brilliantly reconstruct the political, economic, ecological and racial climate of the time, as well as the horrific deaths by hunger and thirst that besieged the peasantries of the afflicted c0untries. As in City of Quartz, Ecology of Fear and Magical Urbanism, Davis's synthetic powers, rendering mountains of data into an accessible and cogent form, are matched by his acid castigations of the murders and moral failings that have attended the advance of capitalism,[which is not really capitalism at all, as the book shows, though state mandated starvation and mass murder as 'development', wrapped as "neutral economics"]

Yes on another point--the mass political deaths to be laid at the door of elite revolutionaries of all stripes who attempt to cut humanity to fit a singular ideology, right or left.

Those who consider themselves right-wing parapoliticists are correct in noting that there's a sad huge number of millions of political murders and purges to be laid at the door of the left revolutionary side of the Janus face of the 'revolutionary elites' running the world.

However, after 50 years of CIA right wing organized coups and secret wars, I think these numbers and that argument should be updated: perhaps killing over 6 million in heavily asymmetric warfare as well (see ex-CIA John Stockwell's book or videos concerning _The Praetorian Guard "I relized that in the secret wars, we were not attacking the Soviet Union and its proxies, were were attacking the Third World"), so, I think it's getting pretty sickeningly even. (This is a short 9 minute excerpt of a Stockwell talk on this, watch it.)

Stockwell estimated 3,000 major CIA operations, and up to 10,000 minor oprations.

And the CIA has funded and created Castro (with the attempt to then invade and overthrow it) as well as the Nicaraguans (and then with the attempt to invade and overthrow it). The CIA will fund both sides. Ollie North was even doing that over martinis while he was in Colombia... Read Barry and the Boys for an eye opener of the consolidated revolutionary elite running left wing and right wing violent revolutionaries, as proxies of the "security services".

Adding in the systemic desruction of Africa, through in State created AIDS virus (see the work of Boyd Graves and his timelines for instance) and other diseases, the ethnic killing programs are heinously right wing in orientation and are straight out of "occult Nazis" mentioned above I don't think it's useful to make such a claim that leftist ideologies have motivated or killed more people. It's getting to be a draw.

I think that a revolutionary committment to competitive democracy and removing these massideology manipuating elites, instead of different brands of ideological totalitarianism, is the only road out of this.

Actually, with all this being said, and hopefully deconstructing a few myths here, with places to go for more informtaion if you want above, I don't think its a constructive way out to blame left revolutionaries actions on left ideas period, just as I don't blame misappropriation of right wing ideas for supporting corporate feudalism.

It's the same Janus faced elites, setting left and right against each other like bugs in a jar and laughing.

However, once you both locally start breaking the jar in which you are set to fight against one another and work on defending your local areas issues of health, ecology and economic preservation, you may have something there.

Until then, this debate still will have the feel of the right or the left attempting to gain points on its equally elite-structured enemy, instead of recognizing that their whole framework of identity and politcs based on polarized opposition on both sides is a common heritage of an intentional divide and conquer by the same people. It's been going on for at least 170 years or so, starting up in my opinion to counter things like the English working class Chartists who were attempting to get more politcal voice instead of economic voice. The other movement of the period that was localist was cooperative movement. Once local grops started to get their own institutions, that was the threat to elite control.

Then elite bankers came along and sponsored Marx to set up ideological divisions (even though there are class divsion issues, the issue of intentionally mobilizing on these alone is what I am talking about) and its been a staged war of economic opinions since then.

However, uncovering what led to such rule by divide and conquer, was the true threat of more local partiipation in government by particular areas NOT based on ideologies that was more based on citizens as politial actors, instea d of citizens as economic actors.

In other words, right/left is not what we are limited to in discussing this. The right wing groups even have been co-opted, remember as well. I read something by Mullins once who said that he personally witnessed the supposed head of the Birchers drawing money out of a Rockefeller bank account that, he said, "he could touch to make ends meet" to keep himself from going bankrupt: i.e., to keep up the useful polarized ideologies in the public mind, which are dominated by the same secret boardroom meetings on which side to fund more at which particular time, etc.

Until left and right both find other mechanisms to discuss politics and strategies they are still captive bugs in another's jar, intentionally rattled or shaken to set them fighting by the pretty visible hand outside the jar, if you go researching to find it.

In these intermidable left/right points getting debates, regardless of the point, you are only scoring points for your common masters if you play that game.

I'm not sure I can agree with this bit:

For it to succeed, peasants would have to be forced by the State to abandon their self-sufficient lifestyle and go to work for wages in a factory. Why would they willingly do this?

My impression is that peasants in places like China have been flocking to the cities simply because being a peasant basically sucks and even being an exploited factory worker is preferable. It's the difference between working 14 hours a day to barely survive and working 14 hours a day but having a little left over -- with the further promise that your children will be better off than you are.

Not that the late 18th-early 19th century didn't make the process far harsher than it had to be at both ends, between land enclosures and the brutality of early factory work. But it quite assuredly would have happened anyway.

I also have questions about your statement that:

Then elite bankers came along and sponsored Marx to set up ideological divisions (even though there are class divsion issues, the issue of intentionally mobilizing on these alone is what I am talking about) and its been a staged war of economic opinions since then.

My sense of history is that denial of class divisions has been far more of a problem than overemphasis of them. The Nazis, for example, pushed the ideal of an "organic" state -- with all its parts working harmoniously and the only enemies external ones -- as a means of validating continued exploitation of the workers by the owners.

The Marxist notion that the workers of the world have far more in common with one another with with their respective national elites may be oversimplistic. But on the other hand, most of the wars of the last century or two have involved various national elites contending with one another for control of resources and using their respective working classes as cannon fodder -- so a world that believed deeply in class warfare might turn out to be one with far less death and destruction.

Those cavils aside, I think I agree with much of what you say. My own take on things would be that far too much of what goes on in the world is based on coercion, and that the best use of governmental mojo would be to facilitate major evolutionary trends (like the mass movement of rural populations to cities) in a way that makes these processes as humane and supportive as possible for everyone involved.

That would mean, for example, attempting to prevent the acute suffering endemic in the festering urban slums of most nations -- but also avoiding things like Japan's artificial support for an obsolete rural agricultural system, which distorts its political as well as its economic life.

And, no, I don't know how to do that -- only how to dream it. But what comes as close to it as anything I can think of is the Dylan lyric:

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'.
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.

Lending a hand and getting out of the way are generally the two most useful things we can do in any dynamic situation.

An Excelleant book. If one cares to understand today, one must try and understand the past.

--Opium was the tool of the capitalist classes in transforming the peasantry and in monetizing their subsistence lifestyles. Opium created pools of capital and fed the institutions that accumulated it: the banking and financial systems, the insurance systems and the transportation and information infrastructures. Those structures and that economy have, in large part, been inherited by the successor nations of the region today.--

Introduction

This book re-examines the British Indian opium trade to China and Southeast Asia. In the past half-century, much research has been done and many books and articles have been written on various aspects of the opium trade. Outside of David E. Owen's account, written in the 1930s, there have been few studies which look at the entire commerce. It is one aim of this study to provide an overview of the opium trade that would include much of the more recent literature on opium, the opium trade and drugs in general. Beyond this, the study seeks in particular to probe the role of the drug trade in laying the foundation for European colonial structures in Asia, both economic and administrative. The intention is to place opium in the same context with other important commercial enterprises which were also based on drugs, or drug-like products, including tobacco, alcohol and tea. So far as I am aware, this has not really been done before.

The study is informed by a number of assumptions about the relationship between drugs and human society. The first of these is that drugs are a "natural" part of human life. It recognizes that since human life evolved we have regularly made use of certain naturally occurring chemical substances for their mind- or mood-altering properties. Almost every human culture has found a place for some drug, including opium. Their use has often been associated with some sort of religious practice, social ritual, or spirit medicine, not to mention everyday physical medicine. Whether it has been opium, cannabis, coca, tobacco, alcohol, coffee, tea, betel, kutch, or one of the many other vegetable products, human beings have regularly had recourse to some selection of them so as to "doctor" their bodies or their minds.

Almost all of these substances can be considered, and have been placed, in the dangerous category. Inappropriate or excessive use of any of them may cause illness, physical or mental damage, addiction or even death. Most cultures have found ways to control the use of their native drugs, thus all human societies have their own "drug cultures." From a systemic point of view, I propose that drugs became social problems only when they were moved out of their "original" contexts to populations or nations which had not been habituated to their use, or when the availability, production or distribution of them was drastically changed. This, at least, is the historical process which I hope to demonstrate here. We have come to call such events "drug epidemics" or "drug plagues." They occur when a society is suddenly swept by a wave of use, and abuse, of' a newly introduced addictive drug. Large numbers of' people are affected and the phenomenon usually attracts considerable attention and comment from other sectors of society, who normally view it as a sign of social decay or even collapse.

It is clear that many drugs are "dangerous." That is, they are poisons that call kill or at least seriously impair our health. Many possess the additional property of being addictive. Without being scientifically exact at this point, addiction can be defined as the process by which an individual develops a physiological or psychological dependence upon a chemical substance that is not otherwise a necessity of life. Addicts thus require a regular and often continually increasing supply of the substance. At some point where use of the drug becomes habitual, they usually suffer ill-health, loss of wealth, an apparent loss of "free will" and some even lose their lives. Drugs, nevertheless, offer psychological compensations and comforts that appear, at least for a time, to make all the ills they bring worthwhile. These attractions are so strong that today, despite fairly strict legal, moral and social sanctions, people are willing to risk fines, imprisonment and even execution to procure drugs for their own consumption or to supply them to others.

It seems that there is one key ingredient necessary to create a true drug "epidemic." In addition to exotic introduction and changes in production, the commercialization of drug production, trade and marketing seem to have been crucial. This links these drugs with the development of capitalism. The commercialization of a drug has radically altered the established relationship between human society and a particular substance. This process has been associated with a number of fundamental transformations in human life, one of which has been the appearance of large plantations, or similar agricultural establishments, worked by some form of slave or unfree labor, where a drug is produced for sale at some distant location. The trade in such drugs usually results in some form of monopoly which not only centralizes the drug traffic, but also restructures much of the affiliated social and economic terrain in the process. In particular two major effects are the creation of mass markets and the generation of enormous, in fact unprecedented, cash flows. The existence of monopoly results in the concentrated accumulation of vast pools of wealth. The accumulations of wealth created by a succession of historic drug trades have been among the primary foundations of global capitalism and the modern nation-state itself. Indeed, it may be argued that the entire rise of the west, from 1500 to 1900, depended on a series of drug trades.

This book looks at the long-term historical transformation of opium, from an exotic chemical largely used as a medicine or occasional narcotic to an intensively produced and widely marketed commodity. It traces the creation of a new and pernicious drug culture in Southeast Asia and China where opium came to be "smoked" by increasing numbers of users. There is an attempt to look at its importance not only in human terms, but also in the administrative and economic structures of India, Southeast Asia and China. In particular, the focus is on the relationship of the drug trade to the rise and fall of the European, especially the British, empire in Asia.

In focusing on the British Empire, I wish to make indelibly clear the intimate historical link between the British enterprise in Asia-East-of-Suez and this phase of the international drug trade. Recent years have seen an upsurge of literature romanticizing the Raj, from Paul Scott's Raj Quartet to the novels of James G. Farrell and the virtual cottage industry of British books about Singapore before and during the Pacific War. Some glorify the endeavor, others find reason to criticize the people or the age, but most studiously avoid the topic of opium, unless to gloss over it as an "oriental" vice. While it is true that Asians used the drug, it is also true that Europeans became the most prominent producers and purveyors. Foremost among them were the British East India Company, its successor the British colonial government of India, and the community of British merchants who laid the economic foundation of the imperial economy. I argue here that without the drug, there probably would have been no British Empire. Admittedly, this is difficult to prove, and I am sure that my contentions will find critics. Nevertheless, if we try to subtract opium income and opium profits from the Indian budgets, from the merchants' balance sheets, from the other colonial fiscal structures, I believe we need to ask how else the superstructures of the European enterprise would have been financed.

There are a number of conclusions from the study. The first is that the nineteenth-century opium trade not only destroyed the integrity of social and political structures in China and Southeast Asia, but it also helped to build and to finance the creation of new and alternative structures. In Southeast Asia these were the colonial states, most of which were supported by opium revenues. In China, particularly after 1860, opium revenues became an important part of regional revenue regimes, which drew strength from the drug trade while the central government declined. Moreover, in the years following the collapse of the dynasty, opium became the fiscal mainstay of virtually all of the warlord and republican regimes that dominated China in the period before 1950.

At the end of the nineteenth century opium was thoroughly embedded in the political economies of every Asian state east of Suez. If it was not grown locally and sold to the population, it was imported from some other place where it was grown for export. While it is difficult to argue intent, it is clear that the structure of European imperial control and the capitalist structures which were built upon it were intimately tied to opium.

This book introduces the image of the "opium empire," a metaphor first offered by Joseph Conrad. It takes up the early history of opium and other "traditional drugs" such as tobacco and sugar and develops the paradigm of commercialized drug trades and ties that to the growth of European colonialism in the Americas and Asia in the second chapter. The third and fourth chapters look at the Asian opium trade of Britain, first as it grew in India and then as it affected Southeast Asia and China. The fifth and sixth chapters look at opium in China in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, focusing not only on the spread of the opium trade but also on the evolving political economy of the drug as it came to affect Chinese political development. The seventh chapter focuses on the political economy of opium revenue farming systems in Southeast Asia, connecting them to the growth of colonial regimes and fiscal systems, while at the same time linking them to the growth of capitalist enterprises in the European-dominated territories.

Chapter 8 reviews the international movements at the beginning of' the twentieth century to ban the traffic in narcotics and examines some of the repercussions of that development. This chapter also looks at the relationship between the nineteenth-century drug trades and the twentieth-century heroin traffic. An important theme here is the change in consciousness regarding the new drug cultures being created. This chapter also suggests a number of the lessons which the "Imperial drug trade," as Joshua Rowntree styled it, have to teach the west as it enters the twenty-first century.

Throughout, the study is concerned with the links between drug trades, European colonial expansion, the creation of the global capitalist system and the creation of the modern state. Drug trades destabilized existing societies not merely because they destroyed individual human beings but also, and perhaps more importantly, because they have the power to undercut the existing political economy of any state. They have created new forms of capital; and they have redistributed wealth in radically new ways. As such, they have been the incubators of capitalism. Their production has enslaved or otherwise entrapped labor forces, their traffic has fed the exchange systems and the "brokers" who are the propagators of the system, and their distribution has lubricated the mass markets necessary for the establishment of capitalism. What sugar, alcohol and tobacco did for the Americas and Africa, opium did for Asia.

In looking at modern-day anti-drug policies and comparing those policies with the attitudes and projects of the years before World War 1, there seems some cause for irony. Modern-day power holders may or may not realize that drug economies have been vital to the construction of the modern state; that they have been the stepping stones of the capitalist political economy. At the same time, nevertheless, they do realize that drugs, and more specifically drug economies, have the power to destroy or seriously undermine an existing political order. The question that we might continue to ponder, however, is whether the problem is in the drug or in the economy.

=====

With help from the American Central Intelligence Agency, the Opium Warlords of the Golden Triangle prospered during the global Cold War and the Asian hot wars in both Korea and Vietnam. So long as they were ostensibly anti-communist, the US supported them, thus the Guomindang military, the Shan warlords, the Thai generals, the Hmoung chiefs, and the South Vietnamese leaders all profited from regular American support and encouragement throughout the Vietnam War era. No small part of their profits came from the drug trades they controlled. When the Vietnam War ended and "native" warlords such as Khun Sa rose up to take the poppy fields from the likes of General Li Mi and Lo Sing Han, a new source of legitimization was found in Shan nationalism. The entire enterprise, however, continued to be a drug regime, now with the capability of transforming the raw opium into heroin, a commodity more readily transported and marketed.

Opium thus created a succession of new political and economic orders in Asia during the past two centuries. These included the state of the East India Company itself, the new Malay polities of island Southeast Asia, the colonial states of nineteenth-century Southeast Asia and the warlord regimes of post-Qing China as well as the Guomindang and communist states that arose out of that milieu. At the same time, the economies of the entire region were radically reoriented, or perhaps "re-occidented" would be a more appropriate word. India's opium production was brought under western control while China's domestic economy was opened to the west. Southeast Asia was first opened to western traders and then to western control. With the migration of Chinese labor, Southeast Asian economies were transformed into commodity-producing regimes focused on exporting to the industrializing western Powers. Underlying all of this, opium rearranged the domestic economies and pushed them down the path of mass consumption, which together with mass production, typified the "modern" economic order.

It is possible to suggest a hypothesis that mass consumption, as it exists in modern society, began with drug addiction. And, beyond that, addiction began with a drug-as-commodity. Something was necessary to prime the pump, as it were, to initiate the cycles of production, consumption and accumulation that we identify with capitalism. Opium was the catalyst of the consumer market, the money economy and even of capitalist production itself in nineteenth-century Asia. This is why it seems appropriate to use the image of Conrad's Patna as the symbol of the European empire in Asia. Whether it was British, Dutch French, Spanish, Portuguese or even American, the white man's domination of Asia rose and fell as a more-or-less unified enterprise. And, before the onset of wide-scale industrialism, it was always a "drug" enterprise beginning with spices and ending with opium. In 1900, as the industrial century opened, the rusting, decrepit Patna was gliding off into the silent sea to some uncertain demise, loaded with hapless Asians engaged in their own pilgrimage, and piloted, so long as it seemed secure, by a crew of weak, deluded and unreliable fools. The idealistic Englishmen, whom Conrad admired, believed they had made something great and glorious, which would last for ages. Conrad's message was that the reality of empire was far less uplifting. The parasites of the empire, as Conrad saw them, the self-serving Europeans, the Chinese, the Arabs, the "half-castes" and the corrupt Malays were the only ones who managed to profit. In the end, something quite different and extraordinary was created, something not even Conrad could have imagined.

Opium was vital, both to the capitalist transformation of the local economies as well as to the finance of the colonial administrative structures which protected those economies. Opium was also important because it speeded those vital changes in the relations of production that were necessary for capitalist-style growth. Opium was the tool of the capitalist classes in transforming the peasantry and in monetizing their subsistence lifestyles. Opium created pools of capital and fed the institutions that accumulated it: the banking and financial systems, the insurance systems and the transportation and information infrastructures. Those structures and that economy have, in large part, been inherited by the successor nations of the region today.

For those who see a deep opposition between Marxism/Capitalism, you might be interested in the book Al Qaeda and What it Means to be Modern.

The book describes the common Positivist roots of both the Marxists and hard-core capitalists, not to mention reactionary modern movements like Wahhabists and Salafitsts.

The history of the world is not one of competing ideologies, but the motivating forces are in a direction orthogonal to the left-right axis, and at it's endpoints, at either pole, there is no discernible difference.

Thanks for the reading suggestion, Kris. I know we have squabbled recently, but I appreciate your latest offering, and I think I will pick the book up in the near future.

Prunes, thank you also for the reading suggestion. It appears as though it is accord with the perception I posited earlier, no? Anyway, another one to put on my list.

The "Spartacus" website touches on Lemnitzer's role in stay-behind operations:

"In April 1961 Gen Edwin walker was fired from his post by President Kennedy. He was accused of encouraging far right wing elements within his command, and distributing JBS/KKK propaganda to the troops, he was, at this time, a member of both the JBS, and the KKK. Senators including Albert Gore ® suspected that Chief of staff Lemnitzer was was also involved with Walkers extremist right wing beliefs.

Lemnitzer was a secret op expert, who was heavily involved with the allies "stay behind network" Its work included recruiting ex Nazi agents to help fight against the Soviet union, and help war criminals escape justice by arranging flights to, and bolt holes in Latin America, later to enter the US by the back door. Recently published correspondance by Lemnitzer showed that he, and other high ranking officers, including Curtis Lemay, were conspiring against JFK,s policys in particular his refusal tto involve the US army in Cuba following the BOP fiasco, they accused kennedy of being a coward for refussing airforce support for the Cuban counter-revolutinaries. It was a direct consiquence of this thinking that Op northwoods was concieved, this was of course rejected root and branch by Robert McNamara which, to put it mildly graetly upset Lemnitzer, and the plans main architect Gen William H Craig. This provoked a six months stand off between the Kennedy administration, and the Joint chiefs of staff, after which Lemnitzer was dispatched to Europe as head of American forces. Before leaving he ordered all copies of the Nortwoods document to be destroyed, but unknown to him McNamara had kept his copy of the secret report, which only surfaced decades later.

To JFK Lemnitzer was a hysterical, and extremist anti-Communist, backed up by unscrupulous multi national companys. "ONLY THE PROPER SURVEILLANCE, AND AWARENESS CAN GUARANTEE THE BALLANCE BETWEEN THE LOBBY OF THE HUGE INDUSTRIAL, AND MILITARY MACHINERY WE HAVE DEVELOPED, AND OUR PACIFIC METHODS, AND OBJECTIVES. SO THAT SECURITY AND FREEDOM CAN WORK TOGETHER".

Hmmmmm......kind of sounds like his brother, Bobby, who was rabid anti-communist before he changed his tune and became a rabid anti-mafiaist....and then a rabid anti-povertyest.

Those little things called bandwagons.

Sorry your Viagra's not working, Anony. Still, at least you've got your guns, and we know as long as you have your guns, the government would never dare drop a nuke on you.

I've had two extremely stong premonitions. One in 1985 atop the WTC building during a visit to New York. (I know, stop yawning) The second was in about 1999. I was on the west side of Phoenix and paused on a small bridge on 67th Ave to watch the planes passing overhead on approach to the Phoenix International Airport. I had a strong premonition of a shoulder fired missile taking out one of the planes.

In christianity, the 'name it claim' it crowd will tell you that not only did God speak the world and all we know into existence, but he also commanded many of his prophets to speak the word concerning what is to come to pass.

Trust me I do not claim to be a prophet, or claim to be able speak worlds into existence, but I am somewhat hesitant to even speak such a premonition, not wanting to see such a thing happen.

No, should I have power to speak that which I would like to see come to pass it would be this. May the Lord smite every neo-con, every facist, every member of every secret cabal working to enslave and control the people of the earth with the curses of Deut. 28.

The Lord will smite thee with the botch of Eygpt, and with the hemmoroids, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou cnast not be healed. The lord shall smite thee with madness, and blindness and astonishement of heart.

Alright, so I'll readily concede that to curse George W. Bush or Dick Chenney with madness is superfluous. Even so, help us Lord!

I've been reading this Blog and it's commentaries for a short bit of time now (A lurker, if you will...) and I suppose I'll say that it's nice to know there are other people in the world who share the same views as m'self. (There was always the "belief", but being a humble human among many, there is always that nagging doubt that 'there aren't enough...')
Many have taken their beliefs and passion to creative outlets.

That out existence should be defined

What inspires in us this madness
That out existence should be defined
By a light that we can't see
By a light that can't be seen

I can't see this all as progress
How did we come this far?
When we see ourselves as deities
Claiming Nature for ourselves
By our actions we betray
The instincts in our race
By our blindness and stupidity
We kill everything
We kill... everything
Can someone see our self destruction?
Are we reminding ourselves
That our existence is
So delicate
That without this light we are no more
That without this light we've made we are no more

A million points of light
Ascending to the sky
Monuments in darkness
Standing watch
Until the sun will rise
We torch this earth until it bleeds
Rain ashes from the sky
Just to make a light that no one can see
We cut this earth until it bleeds
Rain ashes from the sky
Just to make a light that no one can see
Just to make a light
Just to make a light
We kill everything
By our blindness and stupidity
We kill... everything
