In the United States, in the forshortened weeks before its next post-modern election, every action appears to have an equal and opposite distraction. Telling one from the other, that's the hardest thing.
This time, the Democrats may do just well enough to revive faith that the system works and that its workings are of consequence. (Like Jonathan Richman sings in "Walter Johnson": "Boys, this game's no fun if you don't get a hit once in a while.") Simone Weil wrote that "imagination and fiction make up more than three quarters of our real life," and if we can't imagine a better world than this then we can be certain one will be imagineered for us. A bipartisan soft tyranny that rules by mass delusion will concede the odd happy ending, that is actually neither.
The quote is from Weil's essay "Some Thoughts on the Love of God." They're wartime words, written during the worst of it, and imagination and storytelling remain our best means to interpret our attenuated circumstance that already passes understanding.
And everywhere is war. Fourteen years ago, Sinead O'Connor's storytelling on Saturday Night Live sounded to many like hateful babbling, but I expect today it would sound to more like fearless love. The Pope's picture was remembered, but not the child's. Maybe now, because we know more, it would be.
Mark Foley, we know, had been the co-chair of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children, which was formed to provide federal assistance to the National Center of the same name. Its Board of Directors includes Floridian cocaine smuggler Hank Asher who founded the corporation which purged his state's voter rolls in 2000. In 2003 he was hired to help identify potential terrorists for Florida's Department of Law Enforcement. ("This has been highly controversial, largely because of Asher's alleged past links to drug smuggling.") Foley himself played a leading role in suppressing the hand recount. So what are such men with such histories, and in such a state as Florida, doing orbiting about the issue of missing and exploited children?
(And it may be more curious still. A poster on the RI forum links Foley with Bush family favourite Mel Sembler's juvenille mind control enterprise "Straight," and connects Straight to Paul Bishop of the Johnny Gosch snake pit.)
"Don't get distracted - stay focused" - a lot of Don't Stop Thinkin' About Tomorrow Democrats will be saying that more than usual this month. Many of them think Foley represents a distraction, albeit a happy one. But perhaps it's the election itself that distracts Americans with a shiny hoax battlefield, away from the real war they would know better if they would heed the dis-ease of their storytellers.

Jeff, I love reading your stuff. You open up new realms of thought and expand on others already familiar. But I ask the others here, and you, where a reader or thinker should draw the line of belief. Your writing is convincing, and the links you make amongst various source material is brilliant. But some days I want to believe in the "hoax battlefield." I want to believe the netroots fight to turn the Democratic party into a good government progressive force are real and hopeful. Some days I believe in love, some days I believe in existential materialist hopelessness. Sometimes you scare me shitless, when I begin to believe in alien influence and mass elite mind control and ritual child abuse by Cheney and Scalia and the like. But moment to moment I don't actually have a firm opinion. Sometimes I think Cheney was right in on the 911 planning, sometimes I think that these guys are just incompetent profiteers. I really am inquistively clueless. I know there are no firm answers, but I'd like to know if other readers share my constant ambivalence about the plausability of much of the "high weirdness" and some of the other topics of this site fall outside the normal discourse. Thanks for chiming in, and thanks to all for contibuting to this deeply informative and, in it's own way, entertaining site.

A few months ago I read a book by Charles Upton that was pubished by Sophia Perennis press. The author Upton and this book have been mentioned by a number of posters on this site before as being relevant to most of the topics of discussion that are a focus of Rig Int. The first time through it, I was a bit skeptical. After reading the book through carefully once, I wasn’t sure whether to put much stock in either the author nor the book. But a second close reading has convinced me of the author’s sincerity and relative degree of insight.
After reading the book's 520 pages through a second time, and in light of current ongoing political events, I have come to the conclusion that, all in all, it is rather brilliant. Below is a brief excerpt that I ahve typed out by hand, because I think it hits the nail squarely on the head with regard to the current geopolitical machinations vis a vis the “clash of civilizations”. Keeping in mind this broader view could help innoculate the unwary against becoming infected by any potential upcoming "Octber Surpise", such as that which might occur this Friday, October the 13th, the 699th anniversary of French King Phillipe the Fair's arrest of the Knights Templar and seizure of much of their vast wealth.
While one may not have the time nor the inclination to read a 500+ page book, one might well find the following two page political meta-analysis to be of interest. I think that it is especially insightful, considering that it was written in the late 1990’s and year 2000, and published 1 February 2001. Upton seems to have anticipated such things as the “War on Terrorism”, a.k.a. the “Long War”, and the concerted efforts of the Western media to marginalize and demonise Islam, in service of protracted social and military conflict, all with a particular endgame or eschatology in mind. Note while reading this that Upton is not a Christian, but rather a Muslim, in particular a Naqshbandi Sufi.
“In a world profoundly polarized between the Gog of syncretist globalism and the Magog of exclusivist ‘tribalism’ – a word which is beginning to denote what used to be called ‘nationalism’ or ‘patriotism’ or ‘loyalty to one’s religion’ – the Transcendent Unity of Religions clearly represents a middle path, or third force, at least in the religious field. It is equally opposed to the universalism of the global elites and the violent self-assertion of the fundamentalist ‘tribes’ oppressed and marginalized by these elites. Perhaps this is one reason why groups and individuals who hold to this doctrine have been subjected to the immense degree of psychic pressure which observers on the outskirts of the Traditionalist School, such as myself, cannot fail to note. It is reasonable to conjecture that Antichrist would like nothing better than to subvert and discredit the Traditionalists, since the Transcendent Unity of religions is one of the few worldviews that could possibly stand in the way of the barren and terminal conflict between globalism and tribalism which is the keynote of his ‘system’ in the social arena.

He can use economic and political globalism and the universalism of a ‘world fusion spirituality’ to subvert and oppress all integral religions and religious cultures, forcing them to narrow their focus and violate the fullness of their own traditions in reaction against it. He can drive them to bigoted and terroristic excesses which will make them seem barbaric and outdated in the eyes of those wavering between a global and a tribal identification, and set them at each other’s throats at the same time. Unite to oppress; divide and conquer.
In this light, we can see that the exclusivism of conservative and/or traditional Christianity is both its greatest strength and its greatest weakness; the same could be said, with certain reservations, of Judaism and Islam. The exclusivism of these Abrahamic religions allows them to consciously fortify themselves against the System of Antichrist – Christianity by its ‘catacomb spirit’, its ability, ultimately derived from monasticism, to build spiritual fortresses against the world, and Islam by the fact that dar al Islam remains the largest bloc of humanity which, in part, is still socially and politically organized around a Divine Revelation, although to greatly varying degrees, as were Medieval Europe and the Byzantine Empire.
On the other hand, their very exclusivism has prevented these religions, in all but a few instances, from making common cause against globalist universalism and secularism. They remain vulnerable to the ‘divide and conquer’ tactics of the system of Antichrist, a phase which could well be the prelude, if traditional eschatological speculations such as those found in Dennis E. Engleman’s Ultimate Things are to be believed, to a later ‘unite to oppress’ phase – a capitulation by the exhausted exclusivists, longing for the end of endless conflict, to the satanic universalism of Antichrist himself.
According to Ultimate Things, Antichrist will reveal himself in Jerusalem and proclaim himself King of the Jews; the Jewish nation, as well as many Christians, will accept him. From the Islamic perspective, however, any world ruler who begins as a King of the Jews and is later submitted to by the Christians would be immediately and universally recognized as Antichrist himself. It is inconceivable, unless traditional and even fundamentalist Islam were to virtually disappear, that such a figure could tempt Muslims to accept him as the Mahdi or the eschatological Jesus. So if the predictions Engleman recounts are in any way accurate, he is in fact presenting, as the most likely eschatological scenario, a mass apostasy of Jews and Christians which would leave only the Muslims aware of who Antichrist really is, and ready to do battle with him. How then could Antichrist emerge as a true global monarch, albeit a satanic one? Perhaps the militant opposition of an Islam discredited in the eyes of the rest of the world to an almost universally admired ‘savior’ is the very thing which will ultimately consolidate his power. I hasten to say that this is in no way a prediction; God forbid. I am simply allowing myself to imagine various scenarios based on the quality of ultimate irony and self-contradiction which is the keynote of all historical forces in these latter days. And one of the twists of this irony is fact that many semi-secularized Muslims seem much more in tune with the mores of postmodern globalist culture than any Christian I could name.
If the greatest strength and greatest weakness of traditional Christianity is in its exlusivism, the comparable strength and weakness of Buddhism, especially in the West, is in its ability to ‘fit in’. (The same goes for heterodox Westernized Hinduism and various influences, such as Feng Shui, Taoist meditation, and Sino-Japanese martial arts, originating in the Far East.) At its best, this represents a radical detachment from the norms of ‘the world’, allowing it to avoid all forms of dogmatic literalism and fundamentalism and the marginalization such a stance often entails. At it worst, it indicates a capitulation to the collective egotism of this very ‘world’.
In the United States at least, Buddhism is an acceptable part of the general Neo-Pagan cultural drift, which, while it may not identify with globalism, nonetheless often ends by serving it. (The same is true of certain strands of American Sufism, especially those which attempt to separate the Sufi tradition from Islam.) As a religion which recognizes a fall (into ignorance) and posits a goal of salvation (via enlightenment), it ‘naturally’ has a much greater affinity with the Abrahamic religions than with a Paganism which accepts the ontological status quo and seeks only to profit from it. But that’s not how things have worked out sociologically. American Buddhism, as a non-theistic religion (though certainly not an atheism, since it possesses a doctrine of the Absolute), has been attractive to many people – especially, as it turns out, many American Jews – who are in flight from their own narrow-minded and superstitious ideas of God. An acquaintance of mine, a traditional Catholic who studied for years under the Hopi elders, tells the story of a ‘Buddhist Halloween party’ where a well-known American Buddhist teacher, dressed as a ‘Sufi’, made the statement that Buddhism is better than the Abrahamic religions because, just like the Native Americans, the Buddhists don’t believe in God – a statement which my friend knew, from long personal experience with Native American spirituality, to be totally false. It was nonetheless an idea which would ‘play well’ to the general liberal, New Age and Neo-Pagan culture from which this teacher draws his students, the kind of people whose appreciation for the American Indians is even more destructive to Native American spirituality than their attraction to Buddhism is to Buddhism.
The false ecumenism of Neo-Pagan, New Age culture is the seed-bed for that ‘world fusion spirituality’ in which fragments of every spiritual tradition are promiscuously thrown together, to their mutual corruption. True ecumenism on the other hand – the outer expression of the ‘esoteric ecumenism’ of the Transcendent Unity of Religions, which understands the very uniqueness and particularity of the authentic religious traditions as the transcendent basis for their unity – is not a syncretistic amalgam or a diplomatic glossing-over of doctrinal differences, but a united front against a common enemy: that unholy alliance of scientism, magical materialism, idolatry of the psyche and postmodern nihilism which is headed, with all deliberate speed, toward the system of Antichrist.”

Hastert, who quickly made the empty annoucement that "everything's fine now, let's move on and think terrorism" on his last day of Congressional session was timed well I thought to get the hell out of Dodge, by dodging and refusing to take any questions.

There are firm answers; they're just not very appetizing. And that's why it is still tempting, isn't it? No matter how deeply in our bones we know that democracy is an illusion when money and secrecy determine policy, we still want to believe so much that it's possible that maybe this thing can be turned around through conventional means & channels. While I have never been so naïve (or syrup-sappy) as the “don’t stop thinking about tomorrow-ists,” I am a confessed and convicted optimist, both schizophrenically hopeful and terminally cynical. In the fall of 2000, I played my last gig with my post-punk anarcho-grungibilly pop band at an Irish-themed Troskyite gay bar, and even though it was a benefit concert for the Green Party and we all knew that no one gave a rat’s ass about Ralph’s actual chances of even making a statement (much less a dent in the illusion--"The cost of being presented as a 'responsible and serious candidate' by the media [is] usually to show fundamental agreement with the existing distribution of wealth and power"--Michael Lerner), the sap still ran when the singer graveled the anthem:

I think that to read Jeff's blog, you have to be able to maintain what my husband calls a "grey area" -- things that you neither know to be true nor know to be untrue, but are willing to entertain as possibilities pending further information.
Many of the areas Jeff covers don't even have an "official theory" that he's competing with -- nobody else is talking about them at all, or trying to draw the pieces together. Jeff is pointing to something real and meaningful, even if he doesn't have all the details right, and that in itself is far more important than asking "where a reader or thinker should draw the line of belief."
Similarly, I think the dichotomy between "incompetent profiteers" and all-knowing masterminds is a false and misleading one. We live in the realm of intermediacy, and like everything else, Cheney and company are somewhere in the middle -- doing their best to manipulate events but as often as not running up against the Law of Unintended Consequences.

Your mention of Friday, October 13 reminds me I've been meaning to bring up some posts that have recently appeared at Democratic Underground, offering what appears to be inside knowledge about Andrew Card and the State Street Bank and promising that something devastating to the Republicans is going to come out this month.
The poster uses the screen name IdesOfOctober, and when asked about its significance replied:
The choice ties to many things.
1. It is meant to evoke the Ides of March, when an attempt to restore the Roman Republic was made.

Of course, it was not the intention to keep the atrocities secret. In that case they would not have served their purpose, which was to induce general fear, alarm and submission. On the the contrary, the purpose was to intensify the terror by cloaking it in secrecy and making even talking about it dangerous. An open declaration of what was happening in SA cellars and concentration camps in a public speech or in the press - might still have led to desperate resistance, even in Germany. The secret whispered rumours, `Be careful, my friend! Do you know what happened to X?' were much more effective in breaking people's backbones.
The effect was intensified by the way one was permanently occupied and distracted by an unending sequence of celebrations, ceremonies, and national festivities. It started with a huge victory celebration before the elections on the 4th of March - `Tag der nationalen Erhebung' (day of national rising). There were mass parades, fireworks, drums, bands and flags all over Germany, Hitler's voice over thousands of loudspeakers, oaths and vows - and all before it was even certain that the elections might not be a setback for the Nazis, which indeed they were.
These elections, the last that were ever held in pre-war Germany, brought the Nazis only 44 per cent of the votes (in the previous elections they had achieved 37 per cent). The majority was still against the Nazis. If you consider that terror was in full swing, that the parties of the Left had been prohibited from all public activity in the decisive final week before the elections, you have to admit that the German people as a whole had behaved quite decently. However, it made no difference at all. The defeat was celebrated like a victory, the terror intensified, the celebrations multiplied. Flags never left the windows for a whole fortnight.
A week later Hindenburg abolished the Weimar national flag, which was replaced by the swastika banner and a black, white and red `temporary national flag'. There were daily parades, mass meetings, declarations of gratitude for the liberation of the nation, military music from dawn to dusk, award ceremonies for heroes, the dedication of flags and, as a final climax, the tasteless display of the `Day of Potsdam' - with the traitor Hindenburg visiting the grave of Frederick the Great, Hitler swearing loyalty to something or other for the n-th time, bells tolling, a solemn procession to church of the members of the Reichstag, a military parade, swords lowered in salute, children waving flags and a torchlight parade.
The colossal emptiness and lack of meaning of these never-ending events was by no means unintentional. The population should become used to cheering and jubilation; even when there was no visible reason for it. It was reason enough that people who distanced themselves too obviously - sshh! - were daily and nightly tortured to death with steel whips and electric drills. Better to celebrate, howl with the wolves, `Heil, Heil!' Besides, people began to enjoy doing so. The weather in March 1933 was glorious. Was it not wonderful to celebrate in the spring sunshine, in squares decked with flags? To merge with the festive crowds and listen to high-sounding patriotic speeches, about freedom, and fatherland, exaltation and holy vows? (It was certainly better than having one's belly pumped up with a water hose in some hidden SA cellar.)
People began to join in - at first mostly from fear. After they had participated, they no longer wanted to do so just from fear. That would have been mean and contemptible. So the necessary ideology was supplied. That was the spiritual basis of the victory of the National Socialist revolution.
True, something further was necessary to achieve all this. That was the cowardly treachery of all party and organisational leaders, to whom the 56 per cent of the population who had voted against the Nazis on the 5th of March had entrusted themselves. This terrible and decisive event was not much noticed by the outside world. Naturally, the Nazis had no interest in drawing attention to it, since it would considerably devalue their `victory', and as for the traitors themselves: well, of course, they did not want attention drawn to it. Nevertheless, it is finally only this betrayal that explains the almost inexplicable fact that a great nation, which cannot have consisted entirely of cowards, fell into ignominy without a fight.
The betrayal was complete, extending from Left to Right. I have already described how, behind their façade of being `ready’ and prepared for civil war, the Communists were only preparing for the emigration of their leading members. What of the Social Democratic leadership? Their betrayal of their faithful and blindly loyal millions of followers, for the most part decent, unimportant individuals, had begun on the 20th of July 1932, when Severing and Grzesinski `yielded to greater force'. They had fought the election campaign of 1933 in a dreadfully humiliating way, chasing after the Nazi slogans and emphasizing that they were `also nationalist'. On the 4th of March, a day before the elections, their `strong man', the Prussian prime minister Otto Braun, drove across the Swiss frontier. He had prudently bought a small house in Ticino. In May, a month before they were finally dissolved, the Social Democratic faction in the Reichstag had unanimously expressed their confidence in Hitler and joined in the singing of the Horst Wessel Song, the Nazi anthem. (The official parliamentary report noted: `Unending applause and cheers, in the house and the galleries. The Reichschancellor turns to the Social Democratic faction and applauds.')

There was a `League of Communist Front-Line Veterans' and a centrist association called Reichsbanner with a black, red and gold flag, the colours of the Weimar Republic. There was not one single example of energetic defence, of courage or principle. There was only panic, flight, and desertion. In March 1933 millions were ready to fight the Nazis. Overnight they found themselves without leaders. Some tried to join the Stahlhelm and the German nationalists, when it became clear that none of the others were going to fight. For a few weeks their membership numbers showed an exceptional rise, then the organisation was disbanded - and it, too, capitulated without a fight.

As far as this idea of an "Absolute" is concerned, we may ask ourselves: what does this mean, really? Is it, perhaps, a word used to cover our ignorance?
Not all urges are messages from the reptile brain. I recall thirty years ago my father explaining that he wouldn't ever dare try smoking marijuana, even just to find out what all the fuss was about, because it might make him abandon my mother and run off to become a beachcomber on a tropical island.

This is toward the globalized gnostic "revealed doctrine" and prohibitionary based knowledge system that the global occult elites want to utilize to dominate the psyche of the rest of the world--without the rest of the world knowing that Catholicism has changed. In other words the Catholic laity become the equivalent of Masonic porch brethern at the Blue Degrees, without knowing that there are other levels in the Catholic church by now.
What has replaced the core elites of of Catholicism? Drawing from the information and history supplied from authors/journalists like Greg Symanski (sp?) or Craig Heimbichner (his Blood on the Altar: The Secret History of the World's Most Dangerous Secret Society), it is the OTO.
The OTO (English translation: "Order of Eastern Templars") is the Gnostic Catholic Christian Church, a combination of all of the esoteric higher ritual grades and information (if you call it that) from many different Masonic, Misraim, Memphis, Jewish Cabbalistic, and Martinist secret societies. Crowley oversaw its synthesis in the early 1900s. Crowley was sponsored by Reuss for the job.
They had pretty much infiltrated the real Roman Catholic Church by the early 1900s, replacing its leadership stealthily. However, the last Emperor of Austria (before WWI still there) exercised a long unused veto right he had in papal elections and vetoed the OTO-cloaked candidate for next pope.
The Emperor of Austria's veto was used against Cardinal Rampolla, Vatican Secretary of State, second only to the pope in power before his attempt at the papacy, a Mason and a member of the OTO.
Rampolla's OTO network in the Roman Catholic Church survived however and "made popes" by the 1930s. This was the infamous "Hitler's Pope" Pius XII (Eugenio Pacelli).
The OTO (ostensibly 'looking like' RCC involvement from the outside as either Knights of Malta cloaked involvement for instance) is additionally inbuilt into the intelligence services of Britain and the U.S.A.--as well as the rocketry and avionics groups in California.
This would explain why the exoterically 'high Catholic' groups like the Knights of Malta were intimately responsible and contributed toward killing John F. Kennedy, when they were esoterically OTO really I would presume. (See the sprawling book "Vatican Assassins", a book that is insane in some places, astoundingly germane in others...It unfortunately fails to talk about the possibility of infiltration however, though you can read between the lines once you get to the 20th century in the book.) This gets back of course into the Jesuits already being OTO linked as well.
And there is that strange Alta Vendita text. Originally published in Italian in the 19th century, the Alta Vendita (or, in full: The permanent instruction of the Alta Vendita) is a document purportedly produced by the highest lodge of the Italian Carbonara, the Masonic revolutionary society that organized the overthrow of the Papal States and was the crucial leadership for the Italian secular nationalist movement. The document details an alleged Masonic plan to infiltrate the Roman Catholic church and spread liberal ideas within it over the genearations, expressing a desire to "make a cloaked pope" as it were. The Carbonari had strong similarities to Freemasonry, and so the document is seen by some as a Masonic document. In the nineteenth century Pope Pius IX and Pope Leo XIII both asked for it to be published. By asking that the document be published, the popes expressed their belief that it was true.
I'm not Catholic by any means, though I know a stinking occult conspiracy for mind control of the innocents on the outer levels when I see one--and Catholics should know that they require some sort of Catholic loyal Protestant Reformation once more unless they are satified with being the porch brethern of a large billion member graded induction secret society that still lies and calls itself the Roman Catholic Church to keep its members loyal.
What went on in the RCC throughout the 20th century in my opinion is more globally corrupt than it was back when the groundswell of Luther and others were in the air in the 1500s.
Before this Roman Catholic Church infiltration occurred supremely and made popes by the 1930s, Crowley was chosen for the OTO headmastership/grandmastership by the German Theodor Reuss.
Reuss had Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia contacts across England and Germany. Ruess is known to have been personally "thanked for loaning us the Illuminati papers, which have been successfully received and will be translated [from German]" and returned back to Reuss--according to some personal letters back to Reuss, from his English brethren in SRIA which are primary documents you can read for yourself printed in the appendix of Lady Queenborough's (Edith Starr Miller's) posthumous masterwork Occult Theocracy, published in the early 1930s. Miller only had it printed it posthumously because she feared for her life. She additionally published a copy of Crowley's 33rd degree induction certificate into the Scottish Rite Masonry. Reuss had sponsored Croley for this OTO position. Thus German Reuss with Illuminati induction ceremony or some other Illuminati papers sponsored Crowley into taking over the OTO. And then the OTO took over the Roman Catholic Church from the inside.
For background on Miller, Edith Starr Miller (perhaps from the same family of the Starr that was involved in the founding of the OSS in the next generation; and the interntational banking powerhouse AIG) was the second of two American wives of Lord Queenborough.
Lord Queenborough's first late wife was another American of high financial family power likely occult, even Illuminated--the hyper-rich Whitneys who are very much involved in Skull and Bones and the history of the United States in a major way.
Lord Queenborough's first wife, this Whitney, was born in New York City, New York, the daughter of Flora Payne (another intergenerational Skull and Bones family) and businessman and statesman William C. Whitney, a Bonesman himself. This first wife supposedly died of poor health in 1916. As I said, William Collins Whitney was Skull and Bones (S&B, 1863). Bourbon Democrats represented business interests, supported banking and railroad goals, promoted laissez-faire non-regulatory capitalism, opposed imperialism and U.S. overseas expansion, fought for the gold standard, and opposed bimetallism. They strongly supported reform movements such as Civil Service Reform and opposed corruption of city bosses. During President Cleveland's first administration (1885-1889), Whitney was United States Secretary of the Navy and did much to develop the United States Navy, especially by encouraging the domestic manufacture of plate armor. However, by the early 1900s, the Democrats were imperialist as state regulatory (as the Republicans), ousting the 'Burbon Democrats' like the W. C. Whitney.
William Whitney was born at Conway, Massachusetts of Puritan stock. His father was another miliarist, General James S. Whitney (non Bones) and his mother Laurinda Collins (possibly of an Illuminized branch of the Collins). William had a well known older brother, industrialist, Henry Melville Whitney (1839-1923) (non Bones), who was the founder of the West End Street Railway Company of Boston, and later the Dominion Coal Company & Dominion Iron & Steel Company in Sydney, Nova Scotia on Cape Breton Island.
William Whitney graduated from Yale University in 1863 as Skull and Bones, then studied law at Harvard, and practised with success in New York City. if you guys are referring to my earlier post- I don't mean at all to imply that pitcher Cory Lidle is an illuminist, necessarily. We was certainly cocky, and probably not a great pilot. Here's my point- The circumstances surrounding his crash are too strange to have ' just happened'. The date and time as I mentioned, are just too spot-on to be conicidence. And have you seen his flight path? The networks have been playing an animated 3D replay of it all day. As he headed up the river, he suddenly took a sharp left turn, going completely off his path, to slam into THE OPPOSITE SIDE of the building. In other words, he practically passed the building and made a u-turn to hit it. That just doesn't happen. Point is, these things can be arranged. We've been told that this ball player and his passanger were in the aircraft at the time.And while I've seen neither bodies nor wreckage, I might be willing to buy that. It's VERY ODD that his passport should flutter down and land on the sidewalk, in the midst of all this, a la the alleged 911 hijackers. But okay, lets say it did. But there are many, many ways to fly a plane into a building, and they don't all have to involve the pilot's consent. I submit though, that the crash was engineered to have the precise effect is currently having. I also submit that those who arranged the crash are illuminists, and that once again, they've left their nasty fingerprints all over the crime. The loss of life involved, and the fear the crash has invoked are real tragedies.

About that softly falling passport...synchronous events are supposed to be unexpected, I think. It's part of the catch-your-breath, snap-your-neck double-take at the surprising, and sometimes sinister, connectedness of memes. The fluttering passport is certainly one such, but there have been other weirdnesses in screenland recently, too. There is an element of surprise for me in happening to catch anything that transpires in the 2-D world, since I will only somewhat regularly watch Colbert, much less frequently Stewart, and not much else at all. Last night, I turned on the telly and there's South Park's 9/11 special on. I don't know whether it was a rerun, and I'm not well attuned to the thoughts of twenty year-olds in general, but it was a little strange to go from the miracle passport to the hipster debunking of 9/11 in such short order.
Alex Jones is, predictably, all upset about South Park's "complicity," but he seemed to miss the point, or at least the method of the debunking.
